Thanks Jim and Chizzler! The Ride Tech parts should show up this week and hope to get some time on the 48 Burb next week end. And hopefully take the Grandkids to a local cruise in the 72.

I like the square burb Jim. Take your time getting back on the 48. No need to rush things...JK

Thanks Marc!

The seller had a really nice 60 x 90 Morton building with many toys inside. Here are just a few. Good car folks!

Do they want to adopt an "OLDMAN" to watch over their stuff...Jim

Hart_Rod, that Burb was very nice...has the right look! It may be for sale.

Jim, I am trying to be adopted so I am first in line. :) The seller is a retired major company executive with enough resources to enjoy many different hot rods. I didn't show the 60 Corvette, Aero Monte Carlo and a few other nice pieces.

FedEx pulled up today with a big box from Ride Tech. I didn't take a pic...so imagine a picture of a box....here.

Nice pics. I really like the tin woody as well. A lot of nice rides for sure.

Not much shop time lately with yard work. We did take the Grandsons to a car show last week end and had a nice time.

The 35 Chevy did go to a new home so I am done waffling on that one....finally down to one project!

Checked out the Ride Tech components. They sent an extra compressor that I will need to send back.

Fun afternoon with Grandsons!

I really don't like the sound of this one project thing. You need more distractions in your life.

congrats on selling the 35'! I'm sure that was tough to let go of. but now you can focus extra time on the sub you've waiting to build for decades!

as sad as it is to see the 35 go, thats money in your pocket and a smile on another guys face. I'm sure it will see the road soon. and perhaps your burb can see the road sooner.

ridetech stuff looks nice.

Doug, I'm sure you found a nice home for the 35. Nice looking parts. May be a couple days before I post again, surgery tomorrow...Jim

Re: 48 Burb, bagged, 5.3, 20 year wait

Thanks guy, it was a happy and kinda sad day so you all nailed it. The 35 went to a Chevy collector in Joplin, MO with resources to do it right so the car is in really good hands. Great people that want me to come down for a visit and check out their cars.
Marc...love the humor! The race is on!
Jim...Good luck with the surgery.

Now, time permitting I can focus on one project. First thing will be to get the shop cleaned and organized. I can't stand the mess.

I go by the name Youngrodder as I was young (Late 20's) at the time I started my 48 build. Now in my early 40's I too am usually one of the younger people at the shows.

Marc[/QUOTE]

I haven't cracked 40...yet. I am definitely one of the youngest if not thee youngest guy at the local car shows and cruise nights driving either my 49 Chevy or 53 IH Travel All. Most of the young guys (35-45) driving are normally in 70's muscle cars or 60's lowriders. My dream is still to get a 30's 4door or panel to work on with my girls one day. but no garage or space to store them in so until then....

Sad to let a project go but sometimes focus can be a good thing. You can get to driving your burb sooner:bann:

Are the ride tech goodies for your new square suburban or your old rounded off one? It's hard to keep track of all of your wheeling and dealing.

DeeJay - Back when I was in my late 20's going to rodding events I was always the youngster around. Glad you are involved! Thanks for checking in.

It is 65sub...and it will be good to have only one project. Sooner is better though my progress will be slow compared to yours.

Yeah Marc, sometimes my head is spinning! LOL,,, These are for the 48 Burb. While the 72 could probably make use of rear bags, I am just going to drive it. Looking forward to seeing your Porterbuilt parts...as I dream of the next project since I now only have one.

Thanks everyone for checking in! Makes it less lonely out here in the sticks building a project.

One project is enough....
When it's done get on with the next ;)

But if I see your shop, I think it's yours, you have space left :metal:

Nice '56 also!!

Good advice Kees that I plan to follow. Yeah, that is the front half of our shop and it is all getting pretty full. So I gotta stick with your advice. Thanks on the 56....it looks decent in the right light..LOL.

There come a time where you just have to let go. It's sad when you have to let them go, hoping they go to a good home. But then on to new and better projects. Been there done that. Good luck with the air ride.

Doug,

I really dig your Suburban and like the direction you are going with the build. I did a couple 47-53 trucks years ago and always liked them (except the frame pinching in near the motor causing the small blocks to need to be raised). I wanted to see what these year (era) trucks look like so I searched and found a couple cool pics. Hope you don't mind I share em on your thread. Not trying to hijack or nothing. (some guys get their panties in a twist).
Not me, I invite anyone who wants to chime in on my page, post anything they want especially their truck with a similar theme or style. The more the merrier is my motto.
Here's a couple I found;
