Re: my 80 build
thanks guys lkq still hasn't gave me my money back so once I get that deal straightened out I'll keep on looking because I may just go with a 4l60e and have it beefed up
|
Re: my 80 build
I would hold out for a 4L80. I think a 6.0 would eat a 4L60E, even if it had some good hard parts. You will probably get out cheaper in the end, too.
|
Re: my 80 build
well I got my money from lqk and I might be getting a 4l80 with 30,000 miles out of a 06, for 900 out the door
|
Re: my 80 build
I was able to borrow my grand pa's jeep today at least till April when he comes back from south Texas, so I may start tearing apart the suspension from my truck to sand blast or at least use a wire wheel on a grinder and paint and install on the new frame and yes I will stay slammed, but I will use my cut spring instead of the three inch drop springs
|
Re: my 80 build
I also pulled the throttle body and belt tensioner off and painted it silver and installed a new tb gasket
|
Re: my 80 build
Cool keep plugging away at it man. I think the 4l80 will be a better tranny for ya.
|
Re: my 80 build
thanks John
well didn't get the 4l80 yet but did get the dust cover |
Re: my 80 build
my dad was able to get the trans today and was able to get the flywheel and spacer but my dad ran off and left the fly wheel bolts at the yard, goods news the pan was nice and clean so slapped in a new filter and bolted down the pan

Re: my 80 build
didn't get much done today because of this
http://i147.photobucket.com/albums/r...0/100_2798.jpg I left the three inch drop springs in for a simple install http://i147.photobucket.com/albums/r...0/100_2799.jpg and for some reason the floor pans are really short where they start to angle up so it looks like have to cut some metal off the old patch panels http://i147.photobucket.com/albums/r...0/100_2800.jpg http://i147.photobucket.com/albums/r...0/100_2801.jpg http://i147.photobucket.com/albums/r...0/100_2802.jpg |
