Did you find anything out on the rubber isolation piece that goes @ the bottom of the pump (post 561)?

Now these pumps have purge holes in the base. So for the pump to work correctly and so it can purge. I drilled a hole in the cradle under the purge holes. It makes it nice to have a extra sender to mach stuff up on. Got luck on the first try. It will make drilling the hole on the sender I will use easy.

I'm not a chev. truck owner but I do have the Fitech power adder setup on my 408C mustang...works very nice! What am trying to find out is if anybody has got the laptop tuning to work? Tech has been less than helpful on this... Ray. |

I will say that the way you read the data logs on the FiTech is less than desirable. They just use excel. I want to look at a graph that I can scroll and zoom in on things. But you can use the excel just not as nice and clean cut IMO. I guess I am spoiled using SCT for so long and they are the industry standard IMO. But with saying that most people will just put it on and drive it and never worry or look at a data log.

The laptop stuff has 2-D.and 3-D graphs with tracking and more tuning than than most people will ever need. my problem is getting it to talk to the car.. Ray. |

That's one of my big stand up things..(easy to photo) I have tried two laptops and two desktops and two different controllers. I feel am just missing something simple.. Fitech help line has been very very good up till now... For those who my care. 1.Using the timing control with a self modified MSD ready to run(3wire to 2wire) 2. Fuel commander for fuel. 3. After 3 new carbs-750-950-1050- the motor has never run better... The Fitech is an 850 by size...I'm thinking it flows way more than that.. If someone gets the software working let me know... Ray. Somehow am thinking I my have drifted this tread....sorry |

Using the relay,will reduce the current going through the 6 pin connector on the system. Also the pump would always have the voltage it needs. The PWM part is just a voltage reduction on the signal coming from the ECU, so as long as it's enough to turn the relay on, the relay will supply full voltage to the pump. The PWM by the time it gets through the relay, and the output has a super-fast PWM frequency that shows up as a constant voltage by the time it gets out of the ECU. The ECU is just turning the relay ON with this signal, and the pump is getting full voltage. On the ECU, the PWM only works when at low throttle and low RPM, and puts out about 10 volts. Above that, it switches over to the internal relay, and gets direct battery voltage and no more PWM. It's just a pump quieting scheme, and not a pressure control thing. Now everyone knows how the PWM on the FiTech works lol. I run the relay and it is not causing a issue and it is staying. And thanks I appreciate that. I like my truck also. |

At the risk of drifting this tread more. The computer guy at Fitech has been on holiday for a week or two. Till Monday or so. So help on software has been limited at best.. My problem is down loading the KlineDriver_AAFF_FFAA folder. Really its just finding it...... (this lets the two talk) Ray. The timing control really is nice if you can do it. Not opening the hood to adj. fuel or timing on that 90+deg.day after getting a tank of crap fuel while sporting your best girl..Priceless..... |

Thanks, your info is very helpful. Because of my buddy's problem with the Bronco I have already decided to use a relay for the fuel pump and your info tells me that is the right decision.
