Re: What Did You Do With Your Truck Today ?
After 1.5 years I finally got it started and drove it around the block. Found out I need to raise the bed about an inch to clear the shock mounts and I have to install some spacers on the rear end cause the rear tires are rubbing on the bed sides. Unfortunetly that means I have to get longer wheel studs, that sucks just when I thought I was close to getting to drive it again.

Re: What Did You Do With Your Truck Today ?
Im cheating. I have a 1950 (It fits the year requirements of the thread) International L110.
I moved the front frame brace back about 8" to shorten the frame horns. Bent some 5/8" bar stock into ring to create a place to pass the frame brace through. http://i526.photobucket.com/albums/c.../photo-180.jpg http://i526.photobucket.com/albums/c.../photo-181.jpg http://i526.photobucket.com/albums/c.../photo-182.jpg http://i526.photobucket.com/albums/c.../photo-183.jpg http://i526.photobucket.com/albums/c.../photo-184.jpg http://i526.photobucket.com/albums/c.../photo-185.jpg http://i526.photobucket.com/albums/c.../photo-186.jpg http://i526.photobucket.com/albums/c.../photo-187.jpg http://i526.photobucket.com/albums/c.../photo-188.jpg http://i526.photobucket.com/albums/c.../photo-189.jpg http://i526.photobucket.com/albums/c.../photo-190.jpg |

Re: What Did You Do With Your Truck Today ?
Scored a Presmog Qjet off a running truck for $30, it even came with the choke heat dog house (that I bought for my Chevelle for $20). Cleaned it up and will install tomorrow. This replaces the one I had put on it, but pulled when the Chevelle Holley went Tango Uniform. Also figured out the AC, just need to get a couple of bulkhead fittings and I can get the hoses done and the unit installed.

It's 96 here, still too hot to do any outside work but I did get my radiator overflow tank installed. This tank is out of a Ford van (can I use that word here, LOL) I just wandered around Pull-A-Part until I saw one that looked like I wanted. It fits good and only took a couple of "L" brackets to bolt it up. I also got a windshield washer bottle and pump out of an S-10 but haven't installed that yet.

While the hubby is away, the wifey will play! :D
I took off the rear fenders and went about setting up a game plan on how to get everything out of the bed... but still having trouble since everything is so rusted and decayed. Anyone have any good ideas on how to go about doing that? http://i1157.photobucket.com/albums/...s/IMG_4957.jpg http://i1157.photobucket.com/albums/...s/IMG_4928.jpg Also, quickly realizing that our two car garage is quickly running out of room... Ugh. |

Pull the bed or resign yourself to hours of quality time laying under there with a die grinder cutting off the bed strip bolts, there is about 50 or 60 of them, all rusted, recessed in the bed cross sills.
Today I wire wheeled, welded, and did body work on my bed strips. While the JB weld was setting I dug out the door parts and cleaned them. Glad I had rat holed away extra regulators and parts over the years, found out one of mine had a hidden repair that was failing. Need new rollers, otherwise in pretty good shape. Tomorrow am going to modify these parts for one piece windows. |
