Re: My Facetruck thread.
An older woman gets pulled over for speeding
Older Woman: Is there a problem, Officer? Traffic Cop: Yes ma'am, I'm afraid you were speeding. Older Woman: Oh, I see. Traffic Cop: Can I see your license please? Older Woman: Well, I would give it to you but I don't have one. Traffic Cop: Don't have one? Older Woman: No. I lost it 4 years ago for drunk driving. Traffic Cop: I see...Can I see your vehicle registration papers please. Older Woman: I can't do that. Traffic Cop: Why not? Older Woman: I stole this car. Traffic Cop: Stole it? Older Woman: Yes, and I killed and hacked up the owner. Traffic Cop: You what!? Older Woman: His body parts are in plastic bags in the trunk if you want to see. The traffic cop looks at the woman and slowly backs away to his car while calling for back up. Within minutes 5 police cars circle the car. A senior officer slowly approaches the car, clasping his half drawn gun. Officer 2: Ma'am, could you step out of your vehicle please! The woman steps out of her vehicle. Older woman: Is there a problem sir? Officer 2: My colleague here tells me that you have stolen this car and murdered the owner. Older Woman: Murdered the owner? Are you serious?! Officer 2: Yes, could you please open the trunk of your car, please. The woman opens the trunk, revealing nothing but an empty trunk. Officer 2: Is this your car, ma'am? Older Woman: Yes, here are the registration papers. The traffic cop is quite stunned. Officer 2: My colleague claims that you do not have a driving license. The woman digs into her handbag and pulls out a clutch purse and hands it to the officer. The officer examines the license quizzically. Officer 2: Thank you ma'am, but I am puzzled, as I was told by my officer here that you didn't have a license, that you stole this car, and that you murdered and hacked up the owner! Older Woman: I'll Bet he told you I was speeding, too. |

Re: My Facetruck thread.
Killer, it wasn't unusual for people to leave here looking for work. They were the ones lucky enough to make enough to buy the gas to leave.
There were two "waves" of people leaving. One after the great depression and one after WWII. I have relatives around Fresno and Sanger and Corona and Riverside still. I have lost touch with a lot of them except an uncle in Corona. They left for California, Wichita, Topeka (my wifes family) and KC. My dad and uncle had a remodeling business in KC in the fifties. They "cut a fat hog" and got their farms and equipment paid for and some money in the bank and came back here for the quality of life. I almost starved out in the late seventies, early eighties. Since construction was still strong on the east coast in the Carolina's. We kept a little escape fund, and almost had to use it a couple of times to go where the work was. Then the people that left started retiring and moving back and brought some money with them and saved the rest of us. Fishing was good yesterday. |
Re: My Facetruck thread.
He'll be pulling up the big ones before you know it. I can't wait to fish with my grandson the first time.

Re: My Facetruck thread.
Need some knowledge from the knowledgees....
Have a buddy that wants 19.5" 8 lug rims for a project. Only thing I can find that had them was a '66 Custom Camper Special. So am I going to be looking for rims that are very hard to find or somewhat common? Thanks fellas! |

Re: My Facetruck thread.
HA, your fire trumps my fire for sure.
If I did a fire like that here, I would have 40 acres burned before they incarcerated me. |
Re: My Facetruck thread.
No kidding
That was in AZ I’m back in CA now Can you imagine what they would do to me here ? :but: After all It’s not where you live It’s who you hang out with That counts ! |
Re: My Facetruck thread.
Ya, I knew that was AZ, because I figured you would just disappear with no trace if you did that further west.
On second thought they would put you on cable news with a headline like "Pyromaniac Apprehended, Potential Disaster Thwarted". |

Oh yea
See that pile of brush in front of the fire pit I pulled that off before I lit it Anne was freaking out beforehand Pics don’t do it justice But when my brother comes down He brings full on commercial fireworks down We put on our own little show My friends that live on the other side of town said “ did you see those fireworks last night” We laughed and said “Sure did” Another night we were blowing them off at the house All of the sudden, some dude jumps out of the bushes next door and runs off Into the darkness I guess we woke him up :mel: :nx: |
Re: My Facetruck thread.
Anne was freaking out beforehand
I had to laugh at that one. I get that response on a regular basis. I always say "Well, you wanted me" and she says "I don't remember that at all". We were camping at a Corp campground last year and it was raining. I perked the fire up with a pint of diesel. The entire campground heard her express her disapproval. |

Far be it for me to talk about a guy’s rearend but uh, you missed a spot or two.
|
Re: My Facetruck thread.
I remember mom ordering me, "Make sure you get behind your ears". I always wondered why that was so much more important to her than other behind places she never mentioned.
|
Re: My Facetruck thread.
I knew it! just hoped no one would notice.. it was late after work, it was getting cold, my pant legs and boots were soaked so I had to call it.. I think the little stuff left will clean up easy enough in the driveway.. good news is that it's in great shape! no road scars, all machined surfaces are sharp and flat, no dents in the cover, tubes, backplates, etc..
and that's a good point, why didn't mom ever mention the unmentionable places? I mean, isn't that mom's job? have to ask Mrs. Bee when they get home.. sooo, ran into my neighbor at the pub after work the other night and gave him a lift home.. and he gave me some of the most tasty avocados I've had in a while.. one good thing about CA besides the weather I guess ;) https://dl.dropbox.com/s/mo6kjl002gs...cados.jpg?dl=0 |
Re: My Facetruck thread.
Moms. They said to “be sure and put on clean underwear when you are going out. You never know when you will be in an accident.”
If you are in an accident theres a good chance your underwear will be “dirty’d up” anyway! ;) |
Re: My Facetruck thread.
well, here's a pro tip for the dads out there.. tired of all the bird poop on your kids swing seats?
add an extra carbiner to one side of the chain to hang the swing seats up vertically when not in use.. https://dl.dropbox.com/s/yxjof5bgwpd..._7764.jpg?dl=0 |
Re: My Facetruck thread.
Ahhh-vocados, yes such fine memories. Margie was her name and her dad was an avocado rancher. But that was long ago and I still look forward to the avocados when I go to CA.
I'm sure she knew she'd have been getting indications if we hadn't been getting behind there :mel: |

Re: My Facetruck thread.
I had a bad end of the week and weekend. But feeling a little better now. Hopefully no more fevers, I don't want to go back to the hospital. That place is bad for my demeanor. ...lol
|
Re: My Facetruck thread.
Yeah, us old guys don't need anybody messing with our demeanor.

These guys were messing with my demeanor in a good way. Really brought my spirits up watching this cartoon episode at the end of Spring Carlisle '10. These were my neighbors through the show. Not next door, but I was set up where I took the pictures from. I couldn't believe they were even considering this load job. They tried pretty hard. The one guy pried up on the rollback's running boards to clear the trailer fenders. They were forced to aboard when the ramps on the trailer had so much weight on them they wouldn't budge. That rollback was barely on that tail and it had the pickup on it hanging even farther back. Can anyone else see the problems with this load?
|
Re: My Facetruck thread.
at a glance, if that rollback was landed level on the gooseneck, the p/u on top might be over height limit and possibly overweight for truck/trailer ratings..
but I've seen a lot of sketchy looking stuff all highway legal within equipment weight ratings.. either way, amusing to watch I'm sure :D |
Re: My Facetruck thread.
That whole pickup is behind the trailer wheels. I think the tow vehicle's rear is being lifted by all the trailer tail weight. I'd hate to see the wag on that thing on the hiway at speed...if this load was physically possible, which it wasn't. It was very entertaining to watch
|
Re: My Facetruck thread.
Holy Hangover Batman !
|
Re: My Facetruck thread.
I'm surprised the rear wheels on the dually are still on the ground.
|
Re: My Facetruck thread.
lol, you guys are right about that.. scooted the picture around my phone and that is indeed a sticky wicket.. one good pass over the tracks and take-off!
|
Re: My Facetruck thread.
The biggest problem with it is a Ford Pulling a Ford hauling a Chevy. But I guess someone has to carry the boombox in the entourage.
|
Re: My Facetruck thread.
LoL, and even two f o r d s couldn't pull it off :chevy:
