Re: How about some pics of 88-98 Trucks
Nice Yukon jp. I like the tailgate instead of the barn doors. Tailgates seem to be harder to find.

I ran the idea by my bodyman one time. He just gave the that same worried look he gives me everytime I come up with some hair-brained idea. |
Re: How about some pics of 88-98 Trucks
Thanks guys, I like the tailgate too. when I found this truck it had a few of the rarer options and I had to have it, Now I finally got wheels on it and it looks 5 yrs newer.

Re: How about some pics of 88-98 Trucks
USA-1 #1 is a work of Art, its still around too
http://i432.photobucket.com/albums/q...002/USA-11.jpg and then, theres this, GM was going to build some of these in 1989 and 90 http://i432.photobucket.com/albums/q...treetTruck.jpg to compete with the Bigfoot Street Trucks that Ford had built in 87 and 88 http://www.bigfoot4x4.com/images-extreme/eli-4.jpg and again in 93 but sadly the deal never materialized and there were only a few prototypes built, all of them were owned by the USA-1 team. oh and then theres the USA-1 88 Model Race truck that won the 88 TNT Points Series, after missing the 1st quarter of the season: http://i432.photobucket.com/albums/q...nsterTruck.jpg and 2day: http://monsterblog.lzsportsource.com...81906/usa1.jpg ahh such a rich history in the early days of Monster Trucks.... sorry for the thread derailment. Re: How about some pics of 88-98 Trucks
Did USA-1 ever exist in the square body? I remember a couple of monster trucks coming to town in the '80s when I was a kid. One of them was a white square body. I got my picture taken sitting inside the wheel. I'm sure my dad still has that pic somewhere. I was thinking it was USA-1.
|
Re: How about some pics of 88-98 Trucks
no, there was never a square body USA-1, what time frame was it and what area was it, might be able to figure out what it was

Re: How about some pics of 88-98 Trucks
Ah the days when monster trucks were ACTUALLY monster trucks and not some expensive performance parts race. Thanks for all the info and history Colt, I knew about the 88 pickup, very nice looking like I said the 88-98 body styles scream monster truck! Shame now that just about all the trucks don't even run headlights or bumpers or things that actually make it look like a truck anymore =/

Re: How about some pics of 88-98 Trucks
agree'd Jetforce, Back in the day, there was so much Potential in Monster Trucks, were really poised to be "the next big thing" in Motorsports(excuse the pun) but it seems like somewhere along the way, it became about the lowest common denominator, and even though to this day I still love them and go to shows and am involved in the industry somewhat, It just isnt what it should or could have been, and thats sad.
Oh and count yourself Lucky to have seen Stomper Bully man, that truck was a great piece, with alot of History in it. |
Re: How about some pics of 88-98 Trucks
I still have one of these too...
http://img102.imageshack.us/img102/6229/white1sf1.jpg Mine's been well-used. I think the gears are stripped, so it doesn't move on its own anymore. I put a lot of miles on it, though. |
