You would probably get coverage faster than me. With your fancy rollers and all.
Dennis, when is the painter taking the cab?

I might have a set in the attick that I got when I bought the 73. He said he was giving me a set of bench and bucket brackets. If these work for ya Dennis you can have them.

That's going to look awesome, and it's closer to the original color than I thought it would be. :metal::metal::metal:

Man that looks awsome! Cant wait till I get to this stage in my build, or at least just get the damn frame stuff done. I hate having two axles, wish I would have gotten a two wheel drive now.

Looks great in the big pictures man! I am glad you put it up next to the original paint to compare. Very good color choice. It doesn't get much more like a modern version of the original color than that. (Did that make any sense?)

:haha: Billy, it really didnt go down like that. thanks though i didnt even think of that. looks sweet on a big screen!

Josh, got some news from S&P yesterday... they dont make a header that clears the 80e trans ears. took them 2 weeks to tell me that. they said they dont have a chassis there to custom make a set and when you trim the ear off the trans and dust cover you have to go really deep and there will be a hole there... i am just going to have to notch the frame like FRED'S and have the stockers coated. disappointed to say the least.

Negative on the the hole when cutting of the trans ear. I have S&p headers with a 4L80e. It is a close fit though. Do you not want to chop the ears off?

I like that crossmember, how did you driveline angle come out with it.

 i was still in my work clothes! 1 last pic...

btw, i had them make the x member about 3/4" higher than the stock one because with the stock one for some reason the angle was over 5. the pinion angle from the output shaft now is between 4-5 and the rearend angle is between 1-2 so i should be good. i'll remeasure when all the weight is on the chassis.

Cherub 03-09-2010 09:42 AM

Re: Finally "Silvers" build thread!! ('78 swb 2wd silverado)

hahaha you must have read my mine about the driveline angle
