this is my 1970 C10 4x4. It has a 350 w a 4 speed trans. I have 2 daughters. I have given my 13 year old a 1986 iroc-z camaro. This is going to be my 10 years olds truck. It is going to be painted a rose/ pink color when it is finished. I am just getting started.

New to me, project Gangreen. 350, 4-speed, AC, PS, axles & disc brakes from a '76 Blazer. This photo was taken when I first saw the truck. Needs lots of TLC but I can't believe how much attention this beast gets. A little rusty for a California truck, maybe that's why it's trying to grow a sunroof? Originally the nice dark green color seen in the cowl area. So guess what color it's going to be? That 70's paint scheme has got to go!

Put ol pinky on some 17" steelies so the Washington winter doesn't ruin the new aluminum wheels.

16x10 or 17s?
|
Re: post your 67-72 4x4
16's but I don't remember the width. Just check the width you need for the tire size you want I guess.

Re: post your 67-72 4x4
I actually traded for this truck back in June, the previous owner spent two years restoring this truck to what you see today, I would say it is about 95% done, basically going over everything and finding the little things, loose bolts, wires, and leaks. The underside of the bed/wheelwells needs to be sprayed/lined and the wheels need to be powder coated too. Since there is no SPID in it I want to make it a knock off
Highlander. This site is great for info, thanks for the kind words! casey |

Re: post your 67-72 4x4
From what the PO told me and the info he gave me, the truck is a Fremont CA built truck that spent most of it's life in San Diego. He said he got it in an estate sale. C20 and a K20. He put them together here locally and it took him about two years to restore it. I think he said the frame/axles were already done when he got it. I do know that the paint was done about a year and a half ago by a local bodyshop, because I scratched the hood with my garage door, it barely fits. It does have the "Custom Camper" on the doors and a factory aux fuel tank. That is another item I will have to fix, the tank needs to be flushed, painted and plummed in.
I look forward to learing from the site and meet interesting people!!! Casey |
Re: post your 67-72 4x4
The tires/rims are 16 insh stock style steelies with Goodyear Wrangler RT/S tires. I thought they were RS-A tires, 265/75R16. New stock leafs all the way around, no sag, that is why it looks lifted. I will get some pics of the suspension soon, I looked at it last night and the front leaf pack has 3 in it, the rear pack is a 5 leaf.

Re: post your 67-72 4x4
Cool to see a small back window K10, like it, happy building, good truck to start with, are you keeping it a 6cyl too.

Re: post your 67-72 4x4
Well a 292 is almost a 300ci so still get cubic inchs and quite a bit of torque from a large 6cyl, plus you already have some add ons so a good start, maybe for more power could upgrade exh system to go with intake and a better breather element and should pull pretty strong.

On the plus side is sounds fantastic and has loads of torque, the gas mileage remains to be seen haha |
Re: post your 67-72 4x4
nice the rest of the exh is done, a bit of changing it but still done, as foe gas mileage..it's never great with a full size but the cool and comfort level cruisin in an old gal is worth it all day.

My 1967 K10
she has lots of work in her. still sitting stock height, but I put a newer front axle under her to get better joints and brakes, added power steering and brakes. currently starting on a 5.3 swap, because the tired old 350 I has a god awful noise coming from a rod bearing. http://i.imgur.com/C0ZUo71h.jpg http://i.imgur.com/A8LGbgrh.jpg http://i.imgur.com/QjZCvish.jpg |
