hmm, wasn't paying attention but now you mention it..

pontiac rocker covers are 4 bolt but oldsmobile are 10 so maybe?

I'm not familiar with the engine options in a 1960 C60, could it be a tall deck 427 or similar?

That looks like a 455 olds in the 60 Viking. Pretty sure those weren’t even available in an Olds in 60. Also don’t think a Viking 60 would have had an auto trans.

Yeah, hopefully he still has the original fenders. I would have rather patched the original and tried to match the original paint.

It kills me to think this truck will be sold to a wrecking yard and parted out over a damaged fender and likely a salvageable grille!

Re: Post your 60-66 craigslist finds

I wonder if it has a title. It appears to be a Custom Camper with the original engine and, if it still has its original auto trans.... it’s a hidden gem if it’s a 327/TH400 combo. Last bid was just over $2k, pretty steep for a part out, but certainly about right for all that is there. And does appear easily repairable if there’s a title that would make it worth it.

We got the retro style camper you see in my avatar to replace the old one on our truck, but if my wife had seen this, we could have gotten that. It's really cool; too bad it's on the other side of the continent. I hope somebody picks it up.

Here's one that demands a closer look. The condition is a curious mix of appearing very well preserved and cosmetically neglected at the same time, like maybe it was stored in a damp barn? Also interesting is that it's got all the bells and whistles, yet was not ordered as a Custom Camper.

Neat find! Wonder if that paint's original. Why do I see yellow showing on the wheels and painted lock rings? Hmmm. Awesome tail gate, though! Odd that there's no "Hi Torque" sticker on the passenger valve cover.

That's one of my favorites Bruce. It sold at auction in March 2018, never learned final bid. It was some obscure auction place too, don't recall that it was ever on CL or ebay in the past. But I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess it sold for well south of current asking price... Not in my budget at the moment, but aside from lack of Z81, it's pretty much my dream truck: C20 BBW 327/TH400, A/C, and power everything. I'd say current asking price isn't very far off the mark (sadly). As for condition, great observation - but it would appear whoever bought it in 2018 has just sat on it and done nothing to it (probably a good idea), because I think it still has the same dust and dirt on it. Guess they want it to retain that "fresh barn find" look. Thank goodness nobody has cut it in half and slammed it :)

Thanks for posting Jocko! I would have liked to see a photo when it was still Ivory, not to mention photos of interior and engine compartment. Appears to have the clip style 16.5 wheels, which could be original special order, just like the wheels on 60-'66's K 20

Good eye on the wheels. Isn't Ferguson Mill/Twin Peaks from the tv show? Ugh..
I would have loved to have seen it before it was painted too.

Not mine.

GMC 1962 - $5000

Used this vehicle for advertising the last 14 years. 305 CI V-6 Four on floor. This is an old fire dept vehicle. Still has siren under hood. Runs good. Has some vibration at higher speeds.

if your referring to this, you have to reply via email with your phone number per seller's instructions.. click on 'reply' box and the click on 'reply by email' highlighted blue code and it will open an email message on whichever provider you have set as default or give you a choice of ones you have installed.. the subject line will fill with that long code.. it works, I've reached several sellers that way.. they do that to save time and annoyance from tire kickers and looky loos or robo scams etc.. good luck!
