Since I had today off from work I figured I'd repaint my alternater. I guess you never know what they can end up looking like over time, glad I decided to take it all a part, what a mess, looks like it will need some new bearings and brushes before it goes back together,

E-Slay. Fairly inexpensive, if I remember correctly. I think they came out of Arizona. It was three years ago, but I'll look back on my Paypal account and see if I can find better info. Got it. Different seller, but these are the ones: http://tinyurl.com/b9r83bm |

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
Installed remflex header gaskets. These things are sweet! First set of header gaskets that haves actually worked! Love them, truck sounds awesome without that annoying exhaust tick.
Here is a link if ya want more info: http://catalog.remflex.com/ Posted via Mobile Device |
Re: What did you do to your truck today!
put my new door panels on. I have to say I had to trim the holes out bigger where the armrest goes on. I ordered lmc door panels don't know if any others line up better but you cant see where I had to make the hole bigger the armrest covers it so I guess its ok.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
Been collecting parts... STILL waiting for my air bags and CPP brakes to arrive. Brutal. Got my GMC emblems installed, and got all the side trim cleaned up and repainted. I might install it this week. I bought all my 4 guage battery cable for the compressors, 80amp fuse block, continuous duty soliniod to control the compressor power. I made up some cables tonight with the 4 guage and copper ring terminals from the battery to the fuse and made a new 4 guage ground strap to go from the battery to ground. Just been slowly plugging away at it.

Mister-B
What type of paint did you use? |
Re: What did you do to your truck today!
Pulled the upper steering column apart to determine why shifter is sloppy. Didn't find anything obviously wrong with it other than needed a good cleaning and lubrication. Now I can pull the shifter inward, but it still moves from park to drive without any stops. Now to dismantle, inspect and lubricate the lower section and linkage. :waah:

Re : What did you do to your truck today!
M17 : thank you ~ I'm not always sure if My Tech Help is appreciated or not .
It sounds to me like you have your fans set up and working O.K. , I wasn't sure before . Always remember : your coolant should run as close to boiling temperture as possible for maximum engine life , power and fuel economy . Dennis : SWEET ! I wish you were closer , I really want to find an honest & reliable Body Shop to rebuild my '69 Stepper . RE Driveshafts : I'd pass on that hybrid U-Joint , take anu old drive shaft(s) with the correct ends and measure *exatly* how long you need it then hie yourself to the nearest Big Rig Repair Shop and ask who does thier drive shaft works ~ take it there as they'll know and for $150 (assuming they're honest) you'll get your drive shaft back cut & measured , balanced with two new greasable U-Joints , ready to pop in and go.... no hassle . |
