I really dig your Suburban and like the direction you are going with the build. I did a couple 47-53 trucks years ago and always liked them (except the frame pinching in near the motor causing the small blocks to need to be raised). I wanted to see what these year (era) trucks look like so I searched and found a couple cool pics. Hope you don't mind I share em on your thread. Not trying to hijack or nothing. (some guys get their panties in a twist).
Not me, I invite anyone who wants to chime in on my page, post anything they want especially their truck with a similar theme or style. The more the merrier is my motto.
Here's a couple I found;

Wayne, thanks for checking in and sharing the pic's. Love them! The patina greenish blue one has the look! Not much burb progress with other things going on.

Lower50's , yep it can be hard to let go. The 35 went to a good home that has already started body work. They are keeping me updated.

You are welcome. It is nice to push one aside or move one along (we're only caretakers) and re-focus ALL of our vehicle time and spare monies on the one we are "most in love with NOW".

Wayne, you are so right. This Burb is the one I really want to work on right now....though progress has been really slow lately.

A good friend has been working on an inexpensive digital ride height sensor system for me. Still in the development and testing phase right now.

that ride height sensor is cool. Be interested in seeing how that pans out.

Thanks 99 and Jim!

I will keep you posted on how it works out. The system won't provide automatic levelling, though it will give you a voltage display that will correlate to ride height. I think it will be way less expensive than the automatic systems.

yah I still think the digital read out is cool and for sure prolly be less expensive than the alternatives out there.

Hello;

99,jim n oldman;
This ride thing is over my head. :lol:
It sounds good. ;)

I can't even get a gas gauge n sending unit wired in to work. :lol:
The gauge n sending unit is out of the 78 chevy PU with the printed circert board.

99, I think it will be, and I haven't found anything similar on the market so we get to make one...I hope.

Thanks Tim. Can you find a manual for the 78? It should help provide diagnostic steps for the fuel gauge. Looks like one wire goes from the connector on the cluster to the fuel sender in the tank.

I would be interested in the digital ride height sensor system. Is he thinking of making a few once it's working?

He hasn't decided yet. I think he is having too much fun with this to plan ahead much.

Looks like you have plenty on the go, the Burb will be a fun ride when done. the coupe is real sweet too, I just purchased a 51 belair hardtop from Idaho a few weeks back. Like I need another project. Keep up the hard work. Coop

Thanks Hart_Rod. Friend is really talented on this. I emailed him my concept and 10 minutes later he emailed me a parts list with links on where to get the parts. Then he wanted to do the proof of concept and testing. He is really enjoying his new retirement time.

Thanks for checking in Coop. The 35 went to a new owner so I can stay focused on the Burb. A long way to go. Enjoy your BelAir!

Guys, wife is going in for major surgery in Cleveland OH on Monday. Really appreciate your positive thoughts and prayers that it goes well.

Good luck with the surgery. Cleveland has a really good heart and burn center.

Thanks 99! St. Louis couldn't help and hopefully Cleveland Clinic can. They are an impressive hospital.
