The day after high school graduation in 1986. The truck my parents gave me when I turned 16 was green with no chrome on one side and the drivers side door had been bent back to the front fender in a fire wood cutting accident.
A friend told me a guy named Verbon could paint it for me and I spent all summer at his house sanding and sanding and sanding. I owe him a ton for the help he gave me on this truck and this is how it turned out. Wound up building the 350 in it with the 3 on the tree and out ran mustangs, vettes and a 350z in that thing. Great memories and why I have my current project. It got stolen and rebuilt again but that is another story. Wish I had a better pic. Also notice the old one tone in the background. I had forgotten about it till I noticed it in this pic the other day. |

Not too vintage, but I took these back in the '90s. My Dad's 69 GMC. Sadly, it was scrapped, but I saved the grille before it went.

Re: Vintage picture thread
I recently got a box of pictures that came from my aunt.
I especially got a kick out of the first pic. Not sure whose Vette that was, but the truck was my uncles brother. I like the caption around the border. http://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/...psjxzn8yzj.jpg My uncles 69 Mustang. The thing I remember about that car from when I was a kid was the drivers window always fell out of the track. http://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/...psvhmcwrld.jpg This one is the Vette, my uncles brother and his Impala. Not sure what the four door in the back ground was. http://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/...psejfetrcs.jpg This pic was at Lake Geneva Raceway in Wisconsin. It had a paved oval stock car track w a 1/8th mile drag strip through the center of the oval. http://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/...psrpzebvvc.jpg |

Other than Chevrolet allowed..... how about VW Beetle?
My dad drove his where most people wouldn't take a truck. In this case, Glen Canyon, before the dam filled Lake Powell. http://cdn.ipernity.com/200/49/02/40...344713.640.jpg http://cdn.ipernity.com/200/49/06/40...f7fa4c.640.jpg |

Scanned in this old photo, taken about 1977. That's me standing in front of my then pride and joy, a 1971 GMC C1500 Custom, complete with a Moose decal on one door, and a Rainbow Trout decal on the other!

Re: Vintage picture thread
My '71 K10 SB I had for 26 years. The first pic was taken in about '84, the second was taken in '89 and the last one taken in '90 after the color change. Sorry for the grainy looks. I made digital photos of prints. :o

If I had it to do over, I would have kept it medium olive and kept the trim. I prefer stock looks now. |

Here's my grandfather on his Indian motorcycle - he and my grandmother rode it leaving their wedding I believe. Early 1900's or 1910's I'm sure.

I just found this old photo, ( 1981) of my 1969 CST Blazer. By the late 80s it was rusted beyond fixing. I almost gave it away back then. Wish I had it now!!

I posted a couple times earlier but found this one of the truck and camper recently when I converted all the old slides to digital. Taken at the entrance to Bryce Canyon National Park sometime during the summer of 1971. I hardly recognize that good looking young kid in the picture.
