Ok so I googled "surf city" and came up with nothing in CA excepted that certain cities think of themselves as surf city, where do you all home Mac?

Sharp eye there Jason. Yes they are. Set off all the car alarms in the neighborhood when they were on my Chevelle, dumping just in front of the real axle - so I had them cut off and saved them for the truck.

Hey Mac.....first off congrats on the break-in. I was wondering about the resonators you mentioned. What, where, and do they tone it down a bit? I have the 40's dumpin' in front of the rear tires and it about knocks stuff off the walls. I wouldn't mind turning it down to about 7.........thanx.

Summit Racing: Hedman Hedders 17120 - Hedman Hot Tips Chrome Exhaust Tips: $23.95

But be aware - these are only 2" diameter inlets and 2.5" outlet, so if you’re going for big time street performance - forget it. My small block has a stock cast iron manifold and a two barrel Rochester, so don’t consider these particular parts if you’re pulling a big CFM carb. There has to be somebody else in the Summit line (or Jegs) that carry larger diameter units. The main effect of the resonator tips I have is it curbs that ‘drag strip’ thunder just a bit. Like I said before - when I ran the mufflers on the Chevelle I thought I was going to have to go to the dentist regularly to have my fillings replaced. Great for 1320 feet (oh, sorry: 1,000 feet now), but not for a hundred mile road trip.

Yeah, I hate when that happens. It’s almost like the muffler manufacturers need showrooms with either ten engine/muffler set-ups or at least audio recordings of what they’ll sound like.

Thanks Alan, it has taken about five times longer than it should have - but I’ve learned a great deal along the way, and without a back-up vehicle it would have been a butcher job that I would have ended up fighting for its first 50,000 miles

A./ New rear end (freeway friendly) gears.
B./ New brakes - including refab on the emergency brake bracket.
C./ Fab, install and adjust kick-down bracket assembly for the tranny - at the carb.
D./ Install 2" shorter front springs and replace rubber & parts while there.
E./ Lengthen the forward drive shaft and replace "U" joints.

Because of work going on at the house, I need him to keep the truck for two weeks - he's relatively slow right now - so the timing is nearly perfect.
