It stopped raining today around 1pm. The roads have dried quickly thanks to that hot Georgia sun. So we're going to show her for the first time today at a local drive in/show. Thought I'd go ahead and post some "after" pics. I also thought it'd be fun to do a shot for shot of the pics that started this thread.

Of course I removed and kept my original glove box door unmolested with factory SPID for "provenance" ;)

The bottom will always be my favorite part of this truck.

The sun was so bright today when it came out...the white top made some of this pics tough to take.

In the end, even after everything was replaced, the cowl still needed a little help on the driver's side to dial in the gaps...who knows, maybe that roll of quarters did come from the factory. Instead of a lot of shims, a mod to the cowl bracket made it look/fit nicely.

Now I'm going to continue to post in this thread some. I've still got to finish out my tire tools and decal. But I really wanted to take time and thank you all. This board and the outstanding members that make it up have been an invaluable source of information, inspiration and support. I could not have done it without you. Some of you provide almost daily correspondence, feedback and encouragement...Pete, Dwayne, Mike, Tom, Tim, Jim, Steven, Eddie...the list is long. But to anyone who helped me with parts, or figure out when the truck was built, or how something should look, or just to tell us Good Job...I want to tell you how much I appreciate it.

So to you, and to the vendors (both on this site and locally) who helped make this happen...

THANK YOU ALL

Thanks Steven. I'm going to try. She's got a whopping 120 miles on her. Took her to her first show on Saturday. That's Eric's '57 she's parked by (not the one previously pictured in this thread that is getting worked on). They both took home hardware, which was pretty cool....Again, thanks for all your help and encouragement.

Pretty much. I've just got to finish my tire tools set up (lug wrench is what I'm still missing) and the Jacking Instructions Decal.

Though I joined late, I really enjoyed following along. The before and after pictures are amazing and just a hint of the fine work in this restoration. Thank you for sharing.

It is so great to see the before and after pics side by side, also cool you chose the same place to take the pics.

Thanks Pete. So many of the decisions I made or directions I took with this build are because of things I learned directly from you or gleaned from your build. It wouldn't have turned out nearly as well without you...as far as next projects go...I'm pretty sure it's your turn!;)

Amazing job, Brad. That is one great looking K5! I love the before and after shots of the white top and the of course the underside is my favorite, too.

Your build has definitely helped me out and learned a lot from it. I constantly check it to use as a reference when I'm not sure where something goes. Appreciate your help and the detailed pics you've provided during the restoration.

Mike
