I have been cutting, grinding, poking with a stick...etc. Still a little timid to dive in head first but I'm trying. I'm waiting on Jtrux to get his @ss to my place again to put my top back on. We didn't get it done over the weekend and I don't want to remove any more metal till it's bolted down. |

I may have to put some heat sinks on the cover, heat and electronics don't do well in the same space. I'll wait and see if I blow relays. So as not to hold you up on the finished product, I'll cut out the clearance slot for the wires. I was going to post up on your thread not to cut to far as you need structual support on the B post. Don't be timid, jump in there and start, worst that can happen is you'll have to buy another patch. Best case, no more rust, and your door opens and closes correctly. I'll be looking over your shoulder... [quote=msgross;3200635] Quote:

If you allow for air flow and they don't get super hot, you should be fine. I have other covers you can have for 'test purposes' if you want em. |

Re: PO has me PO'd
Changed my mind, I'll mount a screen with a cover plate on top, since heat rises. Should make good air flow
Finally got the correct M/C Booster unit, now to paint and mount.... again! |

Re: PO has me PO'd
Just spoke to M&H Elec. Fab. and was told it is correct to hook the red and black wire together on the stud of the block(ASM-SPL JUNC) mounted on the pass. side fender. The fused black wire(4 amp), with a white tracer on opposite side of truck, is to power up Ampere Gauge. Now to clean it up and antiseize the post
Soooo, this is the rare situation where red and black go together:uhmk:...confusion solved, onward Thanks for your help and time guys http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k2...replace705.jpg |
Re: PO has me PO'd
Finally had the time to hang the correct rebuilt M/C Booster, I may have finally removed all of the PO's handywork...that only took about a month to fix the problem.
Before someone tells me my mounting nuts are loose, I'll tell you what happened. I bought 4 new locking nuts, I dropped one, and the garage ate it! So the bottom one that is on there is to remind me to get another one I'll probably have the cover plate Cadium plated later on. Also received my second set of utility seats from Low n' slow, his are in much better condition...Thank You Doug http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k2...replace707.jpg http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k2...replace706.jpg |
Re: PO has me PO'd
Also finished up the bottom of the SS brake lines this mornin'...gotta find the last bracket for MC/ Booster in the parts pile. That could take awhile.
Todo list is getting shorter for start up http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k2...replace708.jpg |
Re: PO has me PO'd
Lookin' great, every time I see a shot that includes those scroll letters, I wonder what you ever decided to do about a PCV.

Well, I think I got it... If i weld a tube of the proper diameter and lenght(to include an O Ring) to the VC, I can push the PCV valve in but not hit the rocker arms. Then with some modeling clay and saran wrap on the inside of the VC I will be able to see how much clearance I have for the diffuser. After reading some threads on the truck side, I see how it is supposed to work Or, do nothing and let the Offy's vent  |

Re: PO has me PO'd
Gonna take a little break for a while, had some holes bored in my body yesterday(not the tub) and pending their
outcome....weeeellllll we will see. The one on my right hand hurts the most, and I don't want to get any rust or grease in it. So I'll just sit back, gather parts, and talk to you all Short break, I hope! Amazing what turns these builds take. So, please post up lots of pics. and info., so I'll have something to do in boredom:lol: |
Re: PO has me PO'd
Hope its nothing serious, would be a shame to keep a guy with your skills, who enjoys this as much as you do, out of the shop for too long.

Re: PO has me PO'd
Couple new things happening around here...tired of running compressor/sandblast cabinet, trying out a chemical to remove rust. Will let you know of the results.
Also picked up a trans pan/with cooling tubes. I want to put a gauge on it, so I was going to use a engine temp. sensor and mount a gauge in my dash where my vacuum gauge is now...trans. temp. is more important than vacuum to me at this point http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k2...replace717.jpg http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k2...replace716.jpg |
Re: PO has me PO'd
I bead blasted my booster bracket. Looks great. Sent it to powder coat to get black magic on it.. Looks like low gloss but smooth

Re: PO has me PO'd
Do the electrolysis on that rusty part..
Get a plastic bucket, baking soda, water, piece of steel (rod or plate) and a battery charger. Mix the soda and water together submerging the part, hook the negative line to the part and the positive line onto the steel rod outside the water (but the rod entering the water) and put on a low charge overnight... MAGIC! and cheaper than chemicals.. http://i211.photobucket.com/albums/b...4/IMG_3277.jpg http://i211.photobucket.com/albums/b...4/IMG_3278.jpg |
Re: PO has me PO'd
