Not sure about the lift gate. Notches were cut at the rear of the truck, frame and bed under tailgate. No signs of ever having a bumper mounted. Other thing I felt was odd was lift gate, 1/2 ton, short bed. Truck only had 69,000 miles on it when I purchased it. Bed was not beat up at all, including the front of the bed. Truck came from Maryland, I would love to find pics of the lift gate. Story that came with the truck was purchased from surplus auction in 1975, kept for 20 years and sold in 1995, stored in a garage until I purchased it in 2010.

Thought of you today Eric when I was wearing my Chevyland hat. Do you have the truck in post #966 ( the first one)? Or just the glovebox door? I would like to see the 516 paint with the olive interior- thanks for sharing

How come some supers specify the n33 comfort tilt column and some dont? My spid doesn’t list the n33 option yet it has a tilt column. I asked about it in a past thread and the general consensus was that all the black items had been added to my truck tilt column dash pad etc as the carpet was saddle but I think someone had just replaced the carpet and put the wrong color in. I believe the black items were original and the carpet was not.

Show us your spid
Trucks didn’t have tilt unless it was on spid

I was cleaning the shop today
All those pictures are of gb doors I have laying around
That orange with green is definitely an odd one

Here’s another odd one
We are building this truck right now
To factory spid specifications
As soon as it’s finished I’ll post up some pics

The way you have it setup now is correct
Parchment interior In copper truck =
Black carpet, dash pad, column
Although, I agree, the tilt was added at some point
And not factory, due to the fact it wasn’t listed on spid

Yes sir! We live north of town a ways. I know several of the Gudde’s very well! The ole Cheyenne is a neat truck, I’m sorting through some small details right now. Hoping to paint the top of the cab back white this summer..

we'll do it! almost impossible to make travel plans right now, but usually at least once a year I go home to the farm in lone jack and catch up on chores. I'll keep you both posted, thank you!

Look under the hood there should be a valve on the intake the heater hose is attached to.

here is the spid of our latest project...1972 Chevy Cheyenne Super. (i'm a little familiar with these trucks). this is my boss-mans truck. we are taking the truck from the original 8 lug 2wd setup, to a new frame with a 5 lug setup. he wants the truck somewhat close to original looks with some things changed up/brought up to date...this was his dads truck. problem is, boss-man, has a bad memory of detail and that is where I have questions..

1. were the door panels, carpet and headliner considered bright blue or aqua?
2. the seat was blue, BUT did it have blue inserts or white inserts (houndstooth).
3. did the interior doors have the big woodgrain inserts on the side or the woodgrain strip across the top?
4. he can't remember if there was a bottom trim. from my research I'm assuming a woodgrain bottom trim only and a wooden tailgate trim?

I've ran across a members truck...hdff... I am assuming that is what we will end up looking like (beautiful truck BTW)

thanks, for any help

I've got the brother to that one. Except the SPID in mine has two more lines in it one for oil bath air filter and one for turbohydramatic transmission. It is a six cylinder truck too. The only one I've ever seen with a 250 and T350 transmission.

The definition of a base model at the base price. IMO, not common in this era, but very common of pickups built 5+ years before.

Rare does not equal desirable.
The bottom panels are really rough.
