Re: Daverods project 66

My manual 3 speed that I'm still waiting to see how much $ to get it fixed. He said he had one that he might sell to me. I looked at a 64 GMC to day good body no engine w/ 4 speed tran. Told him I could do 600 he wanted 1000. Have'nt heard back? No rust. For an Idaho truck that's just not right. I have a 283 sitting in my garage.

Stupid question. I was looking at dropped spindles. The modular ones from cpp 70-71 $300 say "Allows earlier years to update to larger bearings". Any ideas what they are talking about and if it matters?

Wahoo!!!
My old tranny is sitting on the garage floor tonight. Spent all darn day learning about tilt columns. I could not get it back together where it was not loose. Finally when I found an exploded view I could see , I had a piece in backwards. Works good now. Steering wheel is on and every thing. Truck is lifted up and on jackstands now and it is Transmission time.
Dave, look out -- I'm catching up --- I would post a picture but I haven't figured out how yet!!

Do it this way Right click on the picture properties is at the bottom, select all , then copy the address and paste between the two img things. Take lots of pictures so I'll know what to do. Good work.

that e-brake teeter/totter arrangement on the back brace is different! Do both old frame braces have to come out? I have a new mount for the TH350.

But the wire is a lot cheaper.:sumo: And I would save on grinding disks. And it would take less time. And and....:smoke: ya that's right. It's just better and cheaper. And faster too. And it doesn't smell as bad. And it's better for you.
