Re: "Elwood" the 77_remix
Looks good Ken. I have had good luck with the rust version of the Krylon also.

Re: "Elwood" the 77_remix
Man I have some catching up to do. I'll get this updated soon.

Re: "Elwood" the 77_remix
It was good to see you again at C10's In The Park, Ken. The truck looks even better in person.

As you can tell, I got way behind on my updates here on the forum. Time to get this build thread caught up.
Since I had already mocked up the Eddie Motorsports S drive, the painted pieces fell in places rather uneventful. The studs that hold the drive mounting brackets needed some minor tweaking and the holes polished a small bit. They may have been fine with out my mods, but I really wanted them to slide off and on freely. With that done, all of the pieces of the puzzle went back together once again. |

With the drive system in place I could update all of the cooling hose connections. The inlet and outlet sizes for the new 4 row radiator were smaller than before. The radiator came with one adapter, and I decided to replace the sections for the rest of the hoses. I took my metal tubes to Autozone and found a short hose that had the taper I needed. Of course they had no idea what it was supposed to fit.
With new rubber sections in place I added the hard lines in. |

With the new lines in place I installed the radiator cover plate that Mike Losh built for me. I had Aaron Boese from Homegrown Hotrods paint the pieces for me to give them a nice shine.

Your truck looked great at C/10s in the park Ken. I came by a few times, you were busy and I didn't want to interrupt. Good seeing the results of all your effort in person. Awesome work!

Re: "Elwood" the 77_remix
In an attempt to get caught up on my updates, I'll be a bit more abbreviated with my posts. As Mike suggested, C10s in the Park was a hectic event. The weekend started with a cruise night at Hobby Lobby. It seems the Manager of the store wasnt expecting such a huge turnout so LEO was called. Unfortunately for her, the local officers didnt really make a big deal of the complaint so the night was a success.

Saturday morning I arrived early at the park, and the line to get in was already 100 trucks deep. I found my spot in the American Racing booth and settled in for clean up.

The American Racing booth was inundated all day. I had very little time to see the show, but what I saw was awesome. The quantity, and quality had improved from the previous year. I spent the day greeting old friends, making new ones, and answering a lot of questions.

After C10s in the Park, I had a weekend off. I worked in my yard and attempted to clean up my shop. I wish i could say that happened, but it did not. I got a text from Chris at American Racing. We have been trying to set up a photo shoot since February. He was able to get Joel Chan scheduled, but it had to happen now. Joel would be available for a short time then he was off to shoot more event coverage. I spent a few evenings cleaning up the road film from my trip home from Waxahachie .
We set a time, and found a nearby location at a vacant business center. Heres a couple of my over the shoulder shots from our shoot. |

Ok, so that week went by in a blur. That weekend i went to the Goodguys show in Ft. Worth. The fall Lonestar Nationals is normally the biggest of the season. I hear the attendance was down, but it was hard to tell. I spent the weekend in the Wilwood booth answering questions and discussing their product. The response to Elwood was humbling to say the least.

I got to chat with a lot of great people over the weekend. My buddy Joel and his Dad Shorty from Iron Resurrection dropped by the booth. Later an old internet friend Emily Reeves from Model Mechanic fame dropped by. Her and her husband do a YouTube garage series, building hotrods at home.

While I was at the Goodguys show, Joseph Dowling tracked me down. He is a freelance photographer that shoots fore Classic Truck and Street Truck magazine. He has been trying to get a photo shoot since Elwood was completed in February. Between conflicting schedules and bad weather, it never happened.
On Saturday, he pulled me aside and we went behind the stadium for a shoot. We worked for a couple of hours to allow him to capture the interior and motor pics. He and his wife work together as a team, and they do amazing work. It was an honor to once Joseph once again. |
Re: "Elwood" the 77_remix
Really cool news, Ken! I'll be keeping an eye out for you & Elwood in two of my favorite truck magazines !
