Ok I'm gonna boast for a minute here so put up with me. Dealer installed accessories correct for Aerotrucks. The hood ornament ( Jet ) is for the 62 and earlier Chevrolet Canadian models but I liked it so I put it on. Factory Grille Guard only came painted, I liked it ( since everyone runs Bumper Guards ) so I had it chromed. Power Brake Unit separate from the master bolted to the inner fender. Seat Belts, Locking Gas Cap, Clock, Compass, Litter Container, Manual Throttle Control, Accelerator Pedal Cover, Deluxe Seat ( last of the roll from Original Auto interiors), Chrome Package, Bright Package, Flag Kit, Flare Kit, Deluxe Heater and Defroster, Truck Matched Horns, Reverse Lights, Glove Compartment Lamp, Cigarette Lighter, Rear View Non-Glare Mirror, Radio,Truck Antenna, Side Rails, Reflector Flares, Arm Rests, Portable Spot Lamp, Side Panel Step, Hazard Flasher Switch, Ventshades, Right Hand Sunvisor, Rear Sliding Cab Window, 2 Speed Windshield Washer, Washer Solvent Bottle, Battery Warmer, Limited Slip Differential stock 3.73 Gear.
Yet to be installed but I have them: Power Assist Steering, Truck Safetylight ( Spotlights, I need a template to locate ), Cool Pack Air Conditioning, Anti-Sway Bar ( off 66 camper special ) Under the hood Inline 6. 4 barrel Holley, Clifford Performance Intake and Headers, can't remember the spec's on the cam it's been over 20 years. 1.94 Intake 1.88 exhaust valves installed. 11-1 compression. Head work, 350 GM Nascar Balancer machined. Pertronix unit. Electric fan. Powerglide. The rims are stock GM 16" that I cut and widened to 9.5", I'm looking for 17.5" x 5.25" 6 bolt on 5.5" centers to cut and widen. The brakes are stock dAttachment 474123 Attachment 474122rums. |

Re: How about some pics of 60-66 Trucks
I hope this doesn't come across ignorant but were all those accessories available as options back in the day? I mean they are all so tasteful and fit the styling so well.

Re: How about some pics of 60-66 Trucks
Had the body work and paint done, please remember in the 80's this was the way we wanted our trucks to look. We assembled this truck in 24 hrs. straight ( 7 of us got together ) total frame off reassembled. We put it in Montreal's International Car Show 1990 and took home some prizes. It has sat since then. Last licence plate was 1987 this year is the first plate since then.
Most of the forementioned accessories are correct for 1963. Most are N.O.S. This was done 20 years ago when these truck were unpopular so the prices for these parts were cheaper. I have the 1963 Custom Features Accessory Book, The 63 Accessories Installation Manual, Parts Book Light Duty and Heavy Duty. 63 Salesman's Truck Data Book,Some 63 Chevy Communication Training Kits ( slides with records and pamphlets. 63 Advertisements, 63 Shop Manual, 63 Chevrolet Silver Book ( this contains where you could order crew cabs from, dump bodies, utility boxes, etc. 63 Specifications Book, 63 Frame Blueprint Book, and other stuff,as you can tell I like my 63. |

Re: How about some pics of 60-66 Trucks
I can't get over that hood bird, I have always been a HUGE sucker for those things. As long as I can remember I always wanted a car with a nice hood bird but I always had to settle for something reliable :-P so Please tell me that was an option in 64 as well?? I know I sound crazy saying this but I want one! :) Many thanks for all the info Aero!

Just so us GMC guys won't fel left out here is the 60-61 GMC bird. This also was sold for the 60-61 Chevy hood, but it was only listed in the GMC accessory catalog. Notice the slightly different "Wing Intake" vents. and the Exhaust.
