Is it an optical illusion or is the bed slightly higher than the cab... based on the lower body line....

It does look good... the engine bay is soooo clean...

Rich,
It is about 3/8" higher. I'm not freaking out yet, because I have scrap wood being used for shims and the bed sides aren't bolted in tight yet.

Thanks, I'm really pleased how clean the engine bay came out. I plan on running my A/C & heater hoses under my fenders above the wheel wells in through the side cab vent.

Well, I got the hood sanded and buffed this past weekend. If everything goes right I should be driving my truck for the first time this weekend. I am getting my driveline and throttle cable Friday. Clutch and brakes are complete. Its still away from being finished but I can smell the pavement:metal:

Mark, I'm interested in seeing some pics of your A/C routing through the vent. I'm planning to do the same and not sure yet on how I'm going to do it. I was thinking about sealing up the vent and route them through grommets. I don't really like the idea of a bulkhead as it's just another potential leak point.

May want to get that dash pad installed. The more stuff you put in your dash, the harder it gets to put that dash pad in. Awesome work. Keep up the good job.

Dan, I'm a few months from purchasing my A/C but I will make sure I post some detailed pictures. If you do yours sooner let me know. Your right about the dash pad it was fun trying to get the small washers and nuts on while laying on my back with the foot pedals sticking in me lol.

Thanks Richie! This past weekend I installed the insulated Matt inside my cab. Also had to remove my intake to replace the cam sensor and plug.. It's running really good now. My seat is getting upholstered now.

Installed 1" spacers on the rear axle.. It looks so much better. I wasn't happy with the offset of the 338's.

Truck looks great. bet you are loving the LS1 and 6 speed. I have a ls-2 and 6 speed in my Chevelle and LOVE IT.

Did you bite the bullet and put a cam in it yet? If not, one day you will and it will WAKE THAT BAD BOY UP.
I drove mine stock for 2 years and finally missed the lope sooo bad, I tore into it. Best money spent.

Wayne,

I haven't, but plan to later down the road. I want to enjoy it for a little first.:metal: I plan on installing an LS6 intake, upgraded heads and cam for sure. I'm really impressed how these LS's pull all the way through the RPM range and how long legged 1st and 2nd gear is.. Thanks for the info on the cam, looks like a great choice.

5". Welcome to the forum.

So if you guys haven't noticed by now I like Red. I just got my seat back today and I am really excited how good it came out.

I'm wondering if I'm going to need spacers for my Boss 338's... I've got 5.25 in the front and 5.5 in the rear with ECE 4.5/6 drop kit. Hmm. Gonna go outside and look at how my truck sits now and determine what I should do now because I never thought about it now until I saw pictures of your truck.

Ben,

I did a lot of research a few years ago before purchasing my 338's and never recall anyone installing spacers on the rear axle. It wasn't until I put my bed on and and realized the wheels looked sucked in.

It was cool meeting you and hanging out last weeken Rich. I am insuring and registering Monday, so we need to Cruze the strip soon:metal:

My wife just helped me put the seat in the cab. I think she has earned a ride.
