Re: 1963 C-10 in NC
Your gamble on the color combo really paid off. You don't know what it's going to look like until it's done. The dark blue looks outstanding next to the white and the houndstooth fabric. I'm impressed:metal: Good job on documenting the SMS fabric and getting it done. If I knew the correct fabric was available I would of used it when I did mine.

Here's a few more pictures. I wanted to check out the seat belts to the color and the steering wheel since its painted the color i'm doing the interior in. The white really made the seat pop...it was really dark until the white went on.

Re: 1963 C-10 in NC
thks for the specs. seat is worth that price as a guy locally or (LOCO)ly wanted to charge $1000 plus materials, thats when i went ahead and gathered my own supplies and sew it myself!!!!

Heres a pic of the back of the seat. I wanted to stay true to the original open back. I'm going to get a cardboard gas tank cover and have him cover it in vinyl (may attempt this myself).

There was another local guy who was cheaper, but I wasn't as satisifed with some of the work i saw that he did. My guy (Auto Upholstery 1116 Ramsey Street, Fayetteville, NC) did some work on a few of our family vehicles growing up and a recover for me on my 1st 63 when i was 16. He can do a few week turn around time. |

That is nice material you have there too. I need to get another yard and half for the other 63. |
Re: 1963 C-10 in NC
I think alot of it is the original style cloth / vinyl has a huge nostalgic feel for me. It reminds me of being in my grandparents cars as a kid....The new vehicles are normaly all pleather, leather or cloth and nothing has that classic feel like cloth & vinyl.

Re: 1963 C-10 in NC
i found a old singer walking foot machine for $400 and i already got the burlap, jute and im going with black vinyl instead of fawn. ima keep the pattern the same and the whiteish strip across mine will remain the same. i also found a guy willing to sell the old clips instead of hog ring, but ima use the hog rings for the burlap and jute as per my bible yellow build book. i also found the visor cardboard just cut the pattern and use the same vinyl for the binding. hope it turns out ok. the same guy is sending an old bench seat for a pattern also...

Re: 1963 C-10 in NC
You are going to love those tires. Did Summit have a road hazard warranty for them? Just curious because I bought mine directly from Coker and I bought road hazard for all 4 and they will replace them for free if anything happens to the whitewall.
