Today, it rained again that makes three days in a row. I guess I don't need to work on the old girl. I am trying to collect some parts so when it does slack off, I can show some progress.

Yes it don't look like tomorrow is going to be any dryier. a lot of rain is coming up from the south towards Cuba. The boys keep asking me. Are we going to work on the truck and I keep telling them maybe tomorrow. The big brown truck came today. I got my new set of arm rest and the dash pad today.

Well it rained again today. That makes 6 days in a row. Another 1 1/2 thats makes about 10 inches in the lst week. I did get to fix the pass side tire today. It kept on leaking down. Their is a bone yard about 1 mile from my home so I took it over to them. They fixed it up for me. I been doing business with them for years. Only charged 5.00 I think he just wanted to do me a favor. everywhere else is 15.00 and up.

A few parts came in today. Front brake lines (rubber) and fuel lines from speedway. I should have a bunch of items from classic parts out of Ks.in a day or two.

Re: 1968

Started in installing my new front rubber brake lines. I had to re-work my brake lines. I thought 3/16 would be ok. I used 3/16 on the front and rear. But I think I will use 1/4 inch to the rear like they should have been. Just a minor set back. My bag. I am waiting on parts anyway.

Pretty common mistake, I bet.

George next time ask me if you aren't sure about something, chances are I know the answer and if I don't I can find out.

Today, I had to go and pick up my son from camp. he was going to stay a week, but he had a small bruse on his big toe. he has to have about 1/2 of his toe nail removied. so we got him all picked up and got a dr. appointment for Wed. So I did not get anything done on my truck. But tomorrow I will.

pictures of master cly and port valve. I have a question where does the front brakes line go and the rear lines go.

Re: 1968

I would mount the prop valve lower than the M/C so it will gravity feed to it.

I installed the gas line today. The one on the tank look good. But I am not to happy with the front lined.

gdavis 07-09-2013 09:45 PM

Re: 1968

As you can see I installed the gas lines today. I put some clear rubber hose over the lines in the rear to keep it from shafting. I did the same to the front but it is against the rail and it can't be seen in the picture. Tomorrow I will mount the lines against the rail from front to rear. It was getting a little hot today so I put it off untill tomorrow. I am hopeing to install my transmission line also. This way I can mount the front clip back on the truck. Trying to get it all together for my brother-in-law's work day. Which is the 19th and 20th of this month. He is going to fine tune the body work for me.

gdavis 07-10-2013 08:17 PM

Re: 1968

Well, classic parts did it to me again. Rear brake hose on back order. Did I say I hate that word.(back order). My dome light came in today. Got it off the parts board. I need to pay closer attention to the parts on the parts board. Dome light 28.00 shipped. Classic parts 14.95. What a deal right. But on the other hand I did get the front brake lines installed today. I got my tie rods end boots today. So I started to install them , but guess what? The 72 tie rods ends don't fit the 68 linkage. So I had to replace the linkage and drag bar. everything is larger on the 72 verses the 68. I removed the 72 off the old frame and sand blasted and primed and painted them. Tomorrow I will install the new clean parts.

Hey I like watching your project. A quick question about the fuel pump lines. Are they hard mounted to the the fuel pump? If they are they should have a flexible connection to the frame to allow the motor to flex else the lines will crack. Just looking out for you
