Here's my '83 GMC K2500 Suburban "Clifford", I am the second owner since I bought it front the local fire department when I was 15. Dana 44 in the front, GM 14 bolt in the rear with 4.10's. TH400 trans and NP208 Transfer case, all behind my 350 bored 30 over, Edelbrock aluminum heads, intake, Comp roller rockers with a mild cam and headers. Love this thing to death, my pride and joy.

Did a shackle flip in the rear, added 2 inch longer shackles and installed an 2006 2500HD 11.5 rear axle with disc brakes. Also added a 1991 Suburban 4L80E transmission, just need to add the controller and harness. Still some work to do.....

Updated view with Aries step bars and a BDS 4" all spring lift. Actual lift has to be closer to 6" - the stock springs had sagged really badly.

Well I've been working on this old beast for the last few months. I finally got it to the point it was worth putting new tires on. I hadn't put up any pics though, so here they are. Tire sizes is 33/12.5/15 with no lift yet.

I've only ever owned 60-72 Chevy/GMC trucks/suburbans but love all years. No idea which year this is but it was parked close to me the other day and looked pretty clean so snapped a few pics.

I sold this thing in '15 at Spring Carlisle and I miss as much as I knew I would. I have a whole between my '72 and '95 that needs filled with a square peg . I really needed that thing to be a truck to work out of. If I had one back then I'd still have it. Damn engine blew at a bad time in my daily work truck so it had to go.
I never showed these and just ran across them in pictures from Carlisle that year. This was where it sold. It was a friend of a friend from NH who gave no money down. I did get full payment that week after. Although he didn't come down for it till late summer, I didn't think it right to drive it. So I had to look at it there for months with the hardtop back on, ready for him to take it away |

And another one. My newest Suburban is a 1991 with 123,000 miles on it. Basic truck with manual windows and locks. I borrowed the wheels from my 1988 so I could get it inspected but have ended up driving it instead of stealing parts from it. I bought it to use the barn doors on my 1988 but the thing is in just too good condition to part out. Its a 1/2 ton with 10 bolt front and rear (3.42 ratio) , 5.7 TBI / 700R4 / NP241.

Here's a couple of pics of my 1988 1/2 ton Scottsdale that I purchased off the original owner with about 75K on the OD.
As purchased with the standard white steel wheels/hubcaps and old man style running boards With a set of rally's and tires I picked up cheap for $300.00 and starting the process of being redone. Then after a total strip of paint, glass, interior, headliner, chrome, etc.. everything replaced with new or refurbished, repainted, restored, body bushing, updated grill, running boards, door handles, all rubber, vent windows, leveling zero-rate springs, the list go on and on. |
