This one? I can't remember who owns that one.

That is an odd configuration on that Hino with dual steer axles and single rear. The driver must out weigh the cargo

I have that Dodge picture somewhere. What the heck is that thing mixing and where does it need to go?? I doubt it's concrete because the mixer looks standard size to me, so not hauling any more weight than your every day mixers. Might have to do with the terrain it's used on. Very interesting anyway. It appears to have a Detroit V series by the dual stacks

Heck yes. It's 7:46am, let's get started! :alky:

That streamline era brought about some wild beer trucks. They knew the value a truck played in brand recognition and advertising. A far cry from the mass of white rigs on the road today. Although beer trucks are one place you still see a good paint scheme all lettered up.

I think this Diamond T is a beautiful truck.

That Diamond T is a gem. My Grandfather worked for Diamond T back in the 50s. It was in the mailroom. But it still was probably a cool job. :mm:

Here is a 1938 Seagrave on display in Nebraska City, NE. A very cool truck, I love the Spaceship siren on the drivers side.

My best friend in elementary school's (early-60s) dad was an excavating contractor. He pulled the low-boy with a Diamond-T COE. I remember he would have us go out, climb up to bleed the air out of the brakes in the evening. That truck is where I first heard the name and thought it was such a cool name.

Old fire apparatus is cool stuff. Talk about a custom truck. They are it!

A close up, I think the space ship is just a light, with siren below.
They have a very nice FD museum there, open by chance, or Appt.

I can't find anything wrong with it. If that truck was a meal it would be gourmet... or is it the best dang BBQ you ever had from a roadside stand?

Did I show this?

The truck in the picture where I replied to the previous post is a Western Star. I believe it is Post White era, just a Western Star. I was diggin' on those White Western Stars back in the day they used the old White cab and were hand-built.

I find this International interesting

A West Coast Mack...cool!. I've warmed up to the R models more recently. When they were everywhere I could care less about them. I mean I like all trucks, but they were nothing special to me. I lve the dump bodies out that way. Low slung and long. 10x sexier than our big buckets. I want one. This West coast dump was at our Tr-State show last fall. Love it! Patina and all. Wouldn't change a thing on this old veteran! Appears to have been outfitted to work till not so long agao. Either that or this guy fixed himself up a hot rod lookin' truck

That big Diamond T belongs to the Keystone Truck & Tractor museum in Colonial Heights, VA. I want to get there soon.

That IH logging truck is one dangerous set up. When I see something like that again, it makes me glad that I've retired. Takes me back to the first time at US Steel. They plopped a 34K coil on my flatbed. Ran out of the slag house to tie it down and the brand new 40ft. Fruehauf was bowed. That was a trip I will never forget. Great pic though...

I don't understand your slang or phrases, but this sounds interesting. What about that picture is worrisome?
Care to tell us the whole story of yours that you are referring to?

I'm curious about your trailer bow haul too. How about the way the logs are chained. Is that common?

Well. Where do I begin? #1 The snow. The equipment of his day. The load is weighted towards the back of a short trailer. He has the load chained off in sections with those older binders. I believe he has too few chains. The load looks to be about 15' high. He has the binders on top of the load. You cannot see if they are becoming loose. The good news is the multiple axles and maybe he is only making a short run to a nearby mill or river. God Bless him...
