Re: Its Mine the World Famous 67 Dragtruck
I won't be racing on an U prepped track I can promise you. I don't even think I am gonna run without concrete retaining walls! My wife will be my biggest supporter as long as I don't get hurt. I may even try to get a Hans device. I know I want an onboard fire system!

Re: Its Mine the World Famous 67 Dragtruck
from wat i heared during the show on tv that one of the nitrousbottles let loose and hit him in the shoulder , you can actually see the bottle take off like a rocket in the footage of the accident
on other fotos i saw that the tabs holding his seatbelts where broken , i think daddy dave took it a little to far in the as light as possible department and taken too mush out of the safety department later on saw that the crow had been hit during a run and is now totaled too , not his fault though , the guy next to him crossed lanes and hit his rearquarter causing him to hit the grass and roll a few times , he said he was still alive because he had the cage build by profesionals that showed him the misstakes the former builder made and totally redid the cage think those engines there using make 1800 hp depending on their tune youre truck launched pretty straight with the old engine i just hope youre newer bigger engine doesnt overpower the tires did you done anything new to the 502 ? |
Re: Its Mine the World Famous 67 Dragtruck
Good to hear Kevin, hope to see it run at MMP soon.
|
Re: Its Mine the World Famous 67 Dragtruck
I have made some improvements to the chassis and hope it will have allot better 60ft. My new motor is 80 more inches and a much better combination. I have a much nicer fogger and a plate. My goal is to run 7's in the quarter.

Re: Its Mine the World Famous 67 Dragtruck
Body shop says they hope to spray cab tailgate skin and roll pan Thursday night!
|
Re: Its Mine the World Famous 67 Dragtruck
3years 8 months at the paint shop. I looked back and I had posted a pic when I dropped it off at the Paint & Body Shop. I still won't have the doors and front clip but I will be happy just to have the rest painted and back home so I can get the powder coating done. I can also put the motor and tranny in and start building hedders.

Re: Its Mine the World Famous 67 Dragtruck

Re: Its Mine the World Famous 67 Dragtruck
Nice! Do you mind saying who's painting it?
|
Re: Its Mine the World Famous 67 Dragtruck
wow , i have to say the wait mightve been worth while , shiny black shows any ripples flaws or dents left in the bodywork
i only hope that the polyester doors and nose fit straight out of the box as i will be hard to change the swage/ beltline and the gaps on those without possibly marring the stuff allready painted make sure the paint is fully cured before working on it and tape off all the stuff before fitting the big items like said doors and nose |

Re: Its Mine the World Famous 67 Dragtruck
This didn't take all these years for no reason. The glass doors are to be sold. The truck will have steel doors and vent glasses and roll up and down windows. It has a factory windshield and a lexan back glass. I wasn't happy with the way one of the doors fit so I got I used door and one new a/m door then wound up doing the rockers and cab corners ofer to get all the lines as close to perfect as possible. The doors have defiantly been fitted to the cab. The front end fits pretty well. Advanced Collision in Prattville painted the truck.
