that chevelle is one of my favs., only in a manual convertible top. what HP did the 396 have?

The man cave is great, wish I had more time to spend in it. Dunno on the Chevelle. I am on the lookout for a 70 to build. Its between that and a 67-72 swb.

Maybe you need one of those deer buzzers on your bumper, i think you have to be doing 35 mph to work

Thanks for the props! Everyone will be pleased to know the Blazer is doing great. I have been tinkering and will be posting pics shortly. I ordered a set of Wet Okole yellow and black seat covers for the front and rear along with a molded rubber floor set. I have to do some reconfiguring of the roll bar because the seats rub against it. Can't have that with the new seat covers. Since I'm pulling the inside out I'll be making some custom door panels and tossing on some marine grade vinyl, along with the back panels. The only thing I've done lately is put on a new battery and a 108 amp alt.

Re: "Slowly but Surely" Big J's build thread...

Got the goodies in. Not at all done yet but its in. The rear floor mat is totally wrong for the bed, I don't know what the goofball that tossed it in the box but it bums me out. I've called the place I bought it from, they are working on it.... Sent pics showing how it doesn't at all fit, short on all sides, we shall see what they do(better be sendin' me a new correct rear floor mat). The wheel well covers fit nicely and the front mat is forming to the floor. Its formed from the manufacturer but because its folded when shipped it gets all messed up. Still some trimming to do. One of the rear seat covers is on, it looks pretty cool, need to get the rest done. Still have to put the upholstery on the panels, I did buy some foam and marine grade vinyl. I also found a neat cup holder thing, made a bracket for it, works nicely. Enough blah blah blah, heres some pics.

More progress. My lovely wife finished up putting on the seat covers for me. They turned out sweet. Wish the yellow matched up more but oh well, can't have it all when buying online. Finished up the front floor. Maybe it will lay out better with time but right now I think it kinda sucks and wish I would have went with carpet. Got my panels upholstered too, just the one with the sub left to go. It appears that it will be a PIA and I may have to turn it into two panels.

Very nice work J, looks great! Let me know how that front mat works out, i want to buy one. Did you try a blow dryer to soften up the rubber to fit better

I tried a heat gun and it didn't really seem to do much. The directions said not to put it in the sun so maybe heat isn't the answer. Hopefully time. I will let ya know how I feel about it in a couple months or so. Right now my comments on it aren't that great:lol:

The brand is Wet Okole. I bought them from autoanything.com. Ended up being almost 150 bucks cheaper than the manufacturer.

Got a little more done. Got all the holes in the rubber floor and bolts in place, just gotta put the nuts on and tighten them down. Still workin' on the subs upholstery but got the other panels in place. I found a couple old trim pieces that are from some 67 or so door panels I think. I stuck them on the door panels I made, not exactly how they are supposed to mount but I think it looks nice at the top of the panel.

Had a great weekend driving the blazer, probably the most I've driven it in one day. Everyone that saw it had to stop and take a look. One guy even came into the insurance office while I was getting insurance on it asking to take a look at it. Fun stuff. I still have some trim pieces to make, take the door panels off to attach the metal trim at the top and some other stuff I'm sure. It never seems to get finished.

She does like it. She even put the front seat covers on for me, and fixed the head rest covers that I put on backwards. I couldn't do it with out her, probably would have given up and sold it years ago but she wouldn't let me. A wonderful bride indeed:metal:

Did some swappin for some wheels and tires. 315 70 17 on 17x9 wheels. I dig the original wheels with the mud tires but wanted a different look. I like the way it turned out. More than likely I will keep the old wheels and tires to swap back just to change it up every once in awhile.

Glad you like it.:metal: It sure took awhile to get to this point. Some time in the distant future I see a 6.0 under the hood. If I can snag one for a deal. I reckon I should post the pic of it in the snow here too. Believe it or not its super dirty in these pics. Covered in rusty dust from workin' on the SRT4. Oh well, it'll wash. Reminds me of the good ol days cuttin' and weldin' on the Blazer.

That would be awesome. Don't know if I can make it happen. We are a foster home now and have to get state approval to take'em over the line.

Lol, I was offered a loaner set of real nice ones to put on for awhile. Jamie72 has had a set of painted factory tow hooks hanging on a wall for as long as I've been building the blazer. He offered them to me to run until he found something to bolt them to. Greatest uncle ever!
