That is a nice looking CB. 23 channel, I'd guess. Wonder if it would still work?
That's a complicated home brew switch panel, under the van style coffee deck. This must be the cab of the C/500 dump truck.

Not a CB ! It’s a Pioneer SuperTuner. Available in both 8 track and cassette versions. I installed one in my 55 Bel Air. I also installed two 6x9 Pioneer coaxial speakers in the rear deck. The sound quality was light years better than anything available at the time. I had it mounted in a detachable slide in out mount because theft was always a problem.

Either a very early '68, or a minimalist repaint, unconcerned with period accuracy.
I took Driver Training at Lane Tech in Chicago in a big Impala like that. It was Jan/Feb and we learned to drive low speed on 4'' of compressed snowpack.

Sorry Buddy, I can't tell my passenger cars without a program.
The local Chevy dealers would sub out last year's unsold cars to the City Schools Drivers' Ed program. That way they were nicely broken in, and could be sold off as ''executive driven''. If any got wrecked by kids, they could write them off for generous tax losses. Some days you got the Impalas, some days the BelAirs. Always six place sedans. We hardly ever exceeded 15 - 20 MPH on this track.

^ Is that a cut down 'burb? NICE, in any case. The door shapes are a lot nicer than some I've seen.

No he stretched a pickup . Used parts from a burban to fabricate the cab . Truck has a Duromax with an Allison transmission.

C/30 longhorn?

Steeveedee 08-27-2024 06:06 PM

Re: Trucks in the Wild

I thought that the script was only applied to the bed on a fleetside back by the rear marker light, and not at all on a step side. This reminds me of guys putting "SS" emblems on their non-"SS" cars.

Re: Trucks in the Wild

I've seen some creativity in Chevy truck badges. One 69 to 72 K/10 Suburban I saw at a supermarket parking lot had a '' K/10 '' Badge the driver had modified by putting a Blazer badge with a C/10 badge. I think he also had a fake Door Handle and pinstriped door gap on his Door #4.

As to pic # 1029, Is it still a Longhorn if the chassis has been bobbed into a Duallie Rigger's Flatbed?

Steeveedee 08-27-2024 07:29 PM

Re: Trucks in the Wild

If it doesn't have a 133" wheelbase, it ain't a Longhorn. That's the whole point of the script! FWIW, I have a Longhorn, and wondered for the longest time why it didn't have the scripts. They weren't used in '70, and possibly other years.

If someone cuts a long bed into a short bed, then what is it? We're all over the cheaters who try and get more money by bobbing them.

Slippery slope, is all I can say.

Re: Trucks in the Wild

I didn't think a dual wheel C30 ever had a pickup box.
Sure, it's badge engineering but still pulling the late 80's vibe.
Stacks flat bed roll pan tube grille.
I like it.
