Very nice, got a set of those too. Same guy who gave me mine gave me a L79 corvette winters intake manifold.

Hey leftcoast,

Do you happen to know what year these came on ? Just

curious, the bolt holes are offset if that helps. They're going on a

set of pretty nice 034 heads with shaft mount rockers. Don't tell

anyone, it's a secret.

Should be early 1960's vettes. Not sure what year they stopped putting them on the cars, but I know it was the late 80's when they stopped making them at GM, the set I got were the last at the dealer and my stepgrandpa had to have them. Sadly I threw away the boxes they came in w/ the part numbers.

Hey,

Think I'm gonna' try the 4-7 cam swap. I've got a freind picked up

2 tenths and says it takes some harmonics out.

Any thoughts or comments ?

Cross your fingers guys I took a 502 block to the machine shop yesterday hoping it will clear at .030. With my stroker crank that will make a 548.

Re: Its Mine the World Famous 67 Dragtruck

I actually did some trading and got a bowtie block so if it checks out I may run it to keep from having to run gen VI stuff. The gen Vi block is already bored but the guy it belongs to really didn't want to sell it anyway so he may keep it for his boat if the bowtie block checks out.

This thread needed another post I wasn't liking how many it had.

What has happened to let it twist? What are your thoughts on keeping it from flexing?
Hope you have great luck with the new engine.

Re: Its Mine the World Famous 67 Dragtruck

I'm gonna upgrade the anti roll bar to get it not to twist as much. It has twisted since I bought and Tom said it did this with him also.

Re: Its Mine the World Famous 67 Dragtruck

i've seen on a couple of ocasions they used an helper airbag inside the coil to counter that

djracer 01-19-2009 02:44 PM

Re: Its Mine the World Famous 67 Dragtruck

that wouldn't work for me as I don't have coils. I have coilovers but I haven't tried stiffening the right shock but it might help a little.

watahyahknow 01-19-2009 07:43 PM

Re: Its Mine the World Famous 67 Dragtruck

it would take some trail and error but you might want to experiment with heavier spring on one side instead twisting up the shock on one side might as this might end up unbalancing the truck halfway down the track do to the thumb when it hits bottom
or mount shockwaves (pricey)

Hey DJ
Dont mean to change the subject but what RPM do you leave the line at?
I know track conditions are an issue but was curious about how much your able to put down without getting scary.

Thanks

Re: Its Mine the World Famous 67 Dragtruck

I have a pretty tight convertor so I don't have a huge window to work with. I have left from 3000 to 4000. 4000 is up againest the convertor. The truck actually like more power on the starting line. With the bigger slicks (33x10.5w's) it would take all I could throw at it. I left on 250 and 300 shots of spray. Tom actually left on 2 kits with a 31x10.5w.
