Re: What did you do to your truck today part IV
Installed rear sway bar after work yesterday. I removed it from a '96 Suburban my uncle was scrapping so I figured I'd try it just for giggles. I didn't expect much improvement from it but I have to admit, I'm impressed with the results.

Started prepping some parts for paint over the past couple days, and got some parts to get the engine back together. Hoping to make at least the Atlanta stop of Power Tour this year. Going to shoot some color in the next couple of days hopefully. :chevy:

Prepped the bed for Upol Raptor Liner. I have a beat up steel bed floor from a '71 c10 and this should make it look so much better!

From the seat to the engine bay.
Installed the Clifford intake, 2 barrel Holley and Langdon headers. Tomorrow I need to visit the guy at the hydrolic shop, who is going to make up some braided hoses for the intake water jacket. Then to Meineke to do the exhaust. I also have the lower thermostat housing, that's in the photo on the seat, to install. It has two holes on the sending unit side so I can plumb the hot water from there. |

Finally sprayed the Upol Raptor bed liner. I sanded, cleaned, and sprayed Upol's Acid primer #8 prior to laying it down. It was super easy and looks great. It will be a week or so before I can test it out, though.
The bed floor is from a '71, I believe, and beat to hell, but it was free. I do not like the wood beds. |

Over the past few days, I've been working hard to get Frankentruck ready to make the Georgia stop of Hot Rod Power Tour. Decided to only paint the parts that were easy to clean up since I'm under a tight schedule lol. The mismatched paint is key to sticking with the theme of being pieced together. Routed the plug wires (yes, those are zip tie wire separators that work great) and finished assembling everything I could before dropping the engine in last night. Today, my buddy and I dropped the engine back in the truck. :metal: Bought a reman Quadrajet to replace the old Rochester 2 Jet which showed up today and made me very happy. Still have a lot to do tomorrow though. :chevy:

I know it's a minor thing, but I changed the front corner hood bumpers to new rubber, (old ones were hard). And I installed the center hood bumpers (small round ones) none of the trucks I've had, had these. The rear hood bumpers pads are still in good condition. I got the full six piece set front Classic Parts for $5.95.
