Re: post your 67-72 4x4

the fenders have been rounded off a bit in the front. Probaly dont need it now, I use to have 38s on it and had a set of 40x17s for it to. The bumper goes under the grill and wraps the fenders pretty tight around the side a bit. I can get a couple pics tonight

Great looking truck. What size tires are you running?

Re: post your 67-72 4x4

285/70-17 I do believe. They measure out to 33.4x11.5x17. The truck has no lift, and it fills the fender wells just enough.

What would it take to make my 67 chevy c10 lwb a 4x4? I really just want one vehicle in my name but if I have to I would buy a 67-72 chevy 4x4 later down the road. Can't go wrong with 2 trucks?

Re: post your 67-72 4x4

frame swap or all associated brackets swap. high hump trans tunnel and an axle and transfer case.

Re: post your 67-72 4x4

It's not too hard if your truck is optioned with rear leaf springs.

Just some minor mods to the emergency brake cable frame bosses are needed as they are right where the shackle mount brackets need to go on the 4x4 trucks. The rest of the 4x4 conversion parts pretty much bolt right on once you drill out the rivets holding everything on.

Getting a 4x4 parts truck cheap is pretty easy but for just a little more money you can find complete driving 4x4 trucks instead that won't require all the work to convert them over. Unless your 2wd truck is really nice or you are on a very tight budget I would just look for a factory 4x4 to start with and save yourself a bunch of time & labor.

Plus if your 67 doesn't have power steering then there will be more frame mods in that area to make that change as well.

Quite a bit of work, most with any mech skill could pull it off pretty easily, if yours is nice I would look for another that you like that is all setup already then no down time.

i wonder how old you are...in my project days, my property has been littered with parts trucks, and probably close to 5 or 6 moving vehicles at any given time...sounds like a young guy to me, nothing wrong with that...just saying...give yourself a couple of years building, and you'll see what i mean.

How old I am, 51 in a couple of days, but major young at heart, work out a lot too. Been building cars for myself since 13 and everybody else since about 20, so way to many years in hotrodding everything in front of me. Don't have room in my yard for other projects, just all my buddys builds. Fun every day though with speed equipment.

Easy there cowboy. I am 28yrs old and I have had my share of trucks and cars and I do know what it takes to build them. I am no pro but I have alot of help around me. I was just curious to know what it took. My truck is not pretty but Its mine and I will keep this truck as long as I am alive. If i could have one more vehicle I would love a 1960-72 chevy k10-k20 later down the road. I don't want to be a hoarder either. I like my house clean thank you
