Re: 73-87 4x4s
that thing will be big! i blew the front driveshaft this weekend playing in the mud. its on too much of an angle with the 6 inch lift. gunna look into clocking the transfercase downward to decrease the angle a bit. then should be good

Picked up another one at auction yesterday, actually drove it 100 miles home with no problems! (Usually don't chance driving them home) Ex Military Dept. of Corrections truck. (1986 K30 M1008) New water pump, 12 volt conversion, no rust on rockers or floors, crappy paint job but who cares and state inspected to boot.

Re: 73-87 4x4s
Here's my first squarebodied 4x4. 1986 Chevy Silverado, 350 with 3spd with granny low. Mostly stock minus motor and PO changed out the stock radio for aftermarket, I plan on slowly working on it to get it back to factory minus a few motor upgrades. I'm going to fix the rust and still tring to decide if the bed will be salvageable being as there is rot in the bed panels and what not. Plan on figuring out why the pass tank was disconnected and fixing it to get it back in use. I have already got a few things for it like replacement door and other small odds and ends for it.

This is my 4X4 I got from my uncle at the first of the month. He bought it new in 1978. It's a one owner. That was repainted in the 90's, and is in desperate need of another paint job.

Here is mine as it sits now, not for long though....(come home from deployment, Lord willing, in OCT and I have a garage full of parts I have purchased for this build, just waiting.... :metal:)
Attachment 947008 As it sits now it has the 6.2/th400/205 with 4.10's, suspension all stock. Future mods are -4" Suspension lift -Possibly 2" body lift (see what it looks like first.) -16.5x12 White spokes wrapped in 33x12.5 TSL's -Still deciding on the paint color but leaning toward 2 tone red/white -Headers with 3" true duals through glass packs -4" custom intake -Polished and mildly ported heads -th400/205 to sm465/205 swap My build thread http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=516872 |
