Re: Project Grande Slam: Coley's Hot Rod Shop
Thanks man.. I'm stepping out a little bit I know but I think the end result will be worth a little more time and/or waiting till spring to debut.
Front wheels, shocks, and door panels and I'm done with it. Back to the stepper, and I'm going to just use this one as a nice driver for local shows and swap meets.. riding up to dad's on the weekends, etc. There is a group locally that is in partnership with the SCCA. It is setup to teach yound kids driving skills, what to do in a spin, apexing corners, cones, etc. I'm going to run the ole GMC through the cones a few times I'm sure. I can't wait man. |

Good move on the wheels, Chad. I completely missed Eric's thread on those or I would have been all over them. Look forward to seeing them mounted up and rolling.

Re: Project Grande Slam: Coley's Hot Rod Shop
The bed is coming off this weekend, I'm going to start detailing the frame rails and stuff. Axles, rear drop, just getting it all ready to rock and roll.
I may have to put my other Billet Specialties on the front just till spring time (just sitting in Dad's basement) but I would like to at least get it ready over next couple months. We planed the bed wood and cut it to size this past weekend. I'll post up some pictures asap. |

Re: Project Grande Slam: Coley's Hot Rod Shop
Yep, with the other 'daily' option I just went for it. I have been eyeballing these for a while and it fit everything I wanted in the wheels. They kinda look Salt Flat'ish but the holes are quite a bit larger for the brakes to show, I really like the smaller center cap in them and the overall design fit everything I was looking at initially with the Centerlines, the Salt Shaker, the Intro look etc.
It's like Eric was holding them for me. Some things were just meant to happen, it felt right so I'm going for it. Yes, they're expensive and I know I'll have to keep them polished but the overall impact of the truck will be exactly what I'm looking for. Plus, resale value if I ever needed to sell it .. yadda yadda. It was just too much to pass up. I had to go for it. At regular price I could have never convinced the wife it was a good idea. With 6" BS I might have to get some small spacers milled but that's not a big deal. 1/4" or so .. 3/8" .. Without saying 'make them work' .. I'll work something out. The rear brakes might change the hub-to-hub width too so as compared to a stock drum rear end my backspacing might be a little different anyway. I'm just going to get them, throw them on and get the spacers made to make them perfect. At the price I got these wheels for, I can live with a little bit of a spacer if needed. |

When I bought my wheels I knew that
I wanted the billet specialties their quality is unreal. I also love the smaller center cap also. They show the calipers and disc perfectly. |

Re: Project Grande Slam: Coley's Hot Rod Shop
