i really like the 50 COE project -- i think ya could get away with salvage yard parts pending what it needs at least to get it runnin and maybe even drivable
i know its not everyones taste but i think its a very cool lookin machine .
-------just sayin

Re: Post your C/L finds for everyone to enjoy!

It is real interesting until you get to the 13K for a project that still needs a lot and doesn't have engine nor trans with it it seems. For that price even with a COE done that way I expect it to run and drive for 13,000 asking price.

I realize that the asking price for rather crusty COE trucks sitting in a field in the weeds is pretty high, Between 4 and 5 K from what I have seen in the PNW but that one may be a bit too spendy sitting on a mid 70's 1/2 ton chassis.

Here is a 48 panel in Walla Walla https://www.facebook.com/marketplace...3A108%7D%22%7D

The doors are pretty bad on the bottom and it needs a lot of metal work on the right rear corner but otherwise it doesn't look that bad.

Posted 2 weeks ago so it may or may not be still there.

here is a unfinished 57 stepside, the listing said all you have to do is put it together. body work is done , most parts are there and for the small sum of
$27,000 you can tow it home. It was listed 2 weeks ago for 2k less

That big window is going to need several K worth of finish body work before one can put a decent paint job on it. I have a feeling that that one will be for sale for a long time until the price gets realistic.

It looks to me like the body work is far from being done. Maybe it's just the lighting.

If he has the title in his name in Washington it isn't that hard to get a replacement title in Washington it costs 35.50 and local fees to do it and takes several weeks to process but sure makes the sale a lot easier.

Just as with you he lost a potential cash in hand no nonsense sale because he didn't have the title. Plus a guy can usually talk his wife into a weekend trip to the Walla Walla wine country if he wants to make a weekend out of it rather than down and back.

You can tell that the Vintiques NW nationals are getting close as the Yakima Wa craigslist is getting a lot of enthusiast car adds posted.

This one today, Rather spendy for a rough 51 even though it looks pretty solid. Wait him out a few weeks and it will be a lot less money.
https://yakima.craigslist.org/cto/d/...354182462.html

An address search shows that a car/truck lot in Union Gap Wa has it for sale.

He said the title is not in his name...and he can't find it :waah:

FB find panel that used to be an Airforce Rig, Looks reasonably solid but seems to be missing a lot. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace...Anull%7D%22%7D

He may be putting too much value in the used to be owned by the air force though.

That one should be worth the asking price.
I'd rather have an automatic than the five speed though.
It's got a nice but small Fridge/Freezer but I have a real nice fridge, stove with oven and sink in a camper I have here. All I'd have to do is have cabinets built.

Re: Post your C/L finds for everyone to enjoy!

The 5 speed is a necessity for the times when you party all night and, kill the batteries.
Tell all the drunks; no more beer until you pushstart the bus.
I had to do this with the London double decker buses that Top Deck Travel was using for tours in America. You couldn't really jump them.. If you look at these pictures, the bus is apart in 1/2 of them.

Re: Post your C/L finds for everyone to enjoy!

True there and I have done it with my 77 dualie more than once but my left knee is getting to where it no longer wants to deal with a heavy clutch. That and it would be a whole lot easier to back my 2450 Bayliner into the water with an automatic and way easier to pull back up the boat ramp.

Sorry, I don't think I'd want to own, much less be, on a short bus :)

Re: Post your C/L finds for everyone to enjoy!

They didn't have the same meaning back when I was in school in the 60's. The district had a short bus on A Chevy or GMC chassis that Went down (south) past my house on US 97 to a sheep ranch run by an extended family of two or three brothers and their families. It picked up their kids, two kids at another sheep ranch, a Classmate and his cute sister, The guy who owns all the rusty cars south of Toppenish and his sisters and my sister and I. Once in a while it got used as a team bus on Saturdays. I'm thinking it was an early 60's bus.

I used to ride up to the sheep ranch and back with the driver some evenings after school just for the ride and to give him some company on the way back. I was even the one who talked him into applying for the Auto mechanics Teacher job when I was a Jr and he was my auto mechanics teacher and taught until he retired and I started teaching the class in 1978.

This one probably won't last long at this price, it has those huge mirrors some of you like. https://yakima.craigslist.org/cto/d/...360076971.html

I am too short on spending money right now to go after it.

I've seen this GMC around the area once in a while for years. A pretty nice truck from what I remember. The asking price may reflect the fact that this coming weekend is the Vintiques Northwest Nationals at the fairgrounds in Yakima (WA) and it seems that everyone with something considered a special interest vehicle that they are thinking they might sell has posted them for sale.

Meaning if you wait him out a few days or a couple of weeks you might get it for your price. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace...Anull%7D%22%7D

I really like it and would be near perfect if a 5 window. I doubt you could restore one like that for under 35K (or more) given current inflation.

We are going to show on Friday and it may be there. My daughter wants to introduce her almost a husband (getting married on the 14th) to hot rod shows.

My knees are only good for a couple of hours and it is still hot as all get out here.
