What did you use for the exit patch? Straight Ally or something repurposed?

My thinking is to make a single outlet on the drivers side and make a proper flat oval boom tube - I have enough 2 1/2 and 3" pipe left over from previous builds to have an experiment, if it doesn't work then the only cost is my time, some cutting blades and gas.

Hope to be back on Woody next week as I have had a parts delivery so can start to move forwards again.

This exit is very simple in that it just side exhaust that was lifted up to exit through the bed side. I just have a chrome time on it, then the side protection is just a flat piece of stainless steel that i polished and i have a die stamp that makes the hole. Nothing fancy by any means and not what I would do again as i would do more along the lines of what you are looking at doing, and I have not ruled that out of the possibilities either on what i will do.

ok so put on the seam sealer for the main seams, still need to do the self leveling drip rail sealer. I also put on Por 15 on all of the insides along with the firewall and surrounding area.
I am impressed with the Por 15 and how well it covers. I ordered 3 quarts along time ago through summit thinking that was how i would do the frame. Well it showed up with one of the 3 exploded everywhere inside the bag they were shipped in. So i called them and explained the situation, so they said keep what is useable and we will send 3 new ones! So i now have 5 quarts! Well i have 4 now, used one quart on the pics attached.

Very interesting stuff honestly. It dries with like a satin finish, shown in the pics are of it mostly wet.

So i want to tape off a few area's and spray on build up primer, then sand down and guide coat. Well I have decided that a few areas like the door pillar mount area that I covered in POR 15 i want to make body color, so I read that you can just scuff and shoot primer right over Por 15, so i guess i will be finding out how "easy" that is. LOL hind sight is always 20 20. lol

But damn that stuff is nice for cover, but careful, it will splatter everywhere if you are not careful, very very watery. I thought it would be more like a thinker paint... not even close. lol

So, i was looking at the front area where the fire wall is and maybe i will go with the top coat there as it will be very visible and i want it to look nice, more of a satin finish to semi-Gloss.

I bought it from Eastwood. I have got all my seam sealer from them. Seems like good stuff.

LOL did not do that but damn that stuff gets on everything! It is very liguidy.... lol taste like crap and burns eyes too if you get in your eye... Yes I did... stupid me was using a paint brush on the inside of the dash, brushed towards myself and splat.... a splatter lands in the corner of my eye... not fun... BUT acetone will remove it as long as it is not dried, then good luck....

Found a local automotive paint store that had the "Top Coat Por 15" in gloss black in a spray can ... at 30.00 for the can that i will use on the firewall to make it look nice.

Ok I need some help with the self leveling seam sealer. I bought the 2K self leveling seam sealer from Eastwood, 1 tube to do the top rail of the cab. Question: how or what do you do with the one small section on the roof rail that is set at an angle? Do I install my other seam sealer here to fill in that area and provide a "stop for the self leveling seal?

Well not sure, but i can tell you that i used a spray on bed liner on the entire underside of the cab and that stuff will not come off if you get it on your Hootus without some time and soaking.... lol

BUT the seam sealer will come off, with some effort of course.

Well so I had to do something with the truck, it has been so long... so I started to install all the sound deadener on the inside and oh damn, that is not a quick process or at least with me it is not. lol
I am installing the stuff everywhere in the inside, all the way up inside firewall, floor and up the back side of the cab., I am also installing it where the headliner will be and then on the outside of the foot area vents that are now going to be mid speaker air boxes. Pics coming...

Verify this is acceptable for the speakers used. It is 'sound deadening material' so it can tweak the acoustics of speakers.
