Re: intro + 66 black bagged long fleet
Coulter first I would like to say I like your work so far. Maybe I missed the info. So I guess I will ask a few questions to clear it up for me.
1. What size bags did you use on your truck? 2600 up front and 2500 rear? 2. The drop spindles are for/from what year model? 3. Did you use original upper and lower control arms? If you did. Do you have to swap ball joints? To which ones? 4. What is the lower control arms pocket depth? 5. What is your rearend from? 6. Did you fab the step notch or buy one? 7. Are the trailing arms longer on long bed then short bed trailing arms? |

Re: intro + 66 black bagged long fleet
o sweet man its always cool to see another artist :metal::metal::metal::metal: do you have a website or anything? what shop do you work at?
well sorry not many pics but a lot of work has been done lately.. here is a short list of other mods i did to make the engine fit how i wanted it to without the oil pan hitting the ground when layed out. installed 8" deep oil pan (had a 9" pan) spaced the engine mounts up 1/2" and slotted the holes a little more to move the engine back a 1/2" also (needed more room for a flex fan) the crosslink for my steering was hitting the oil pan so i had to mod it to make it fit (picture below) modified the tranny crossmember for more room for the exhaust and also made it two peices cause it was near impossible to get it in and out without removing the exhaust. here are a few pics tranny crossmember mod. since i made it thinner i welded some flat stock on the front and back to help beef it up. It is super easy to install now :metal::metal::metal: http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7202/1...9b104682_c.jpg everything is hooked up and ready to go except for the radiator. I had to move the mount and little bit further forward to clear the new fan.. btw i went with the flex fan because at idle it would start to heat up with that electric fan. i plan on running both fans just in case. i also added a different tranny cooler instead of trying to use the radiator to cool the engine and tranny so it should be good to go now :metal::metal: http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3667/1...b9dd9cb7_c.jpg new tranny cooler. not real sure if i need a fan on this??? i was thinking of making a little scoop that will direct air toward it while going down the road. anyone have experience with one of these? http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7174/1...446552de_c.jpg steering u joint welded in place. installed new bearings in the column and shortened the shaft an inch shorter than stock so i could adjust the column more forward to get the steering wheel further away from me :metal::metal: http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7002/1...8424f1e8_c.jpg here is the steering crosslink after i modded it.. i welded it back together then went overkill by adding gussets and boxing it in all the way around where it was welded together cause i dont wanna take any chances http://farm3.staticflickr.com/2861/1...29db9b86_c.jpg all i really have left now is finish the wheel tubs. mod my hood hinges some more and install the front clip and radiator :metal::metal::metal::metal: |
