Yep, he put it down the road but he's still got his sweet fleetside. If I ever buy another truck it would be something like that truck. Low static drop, truck rallys, and as close to factory looking as it could be. However, I doubt that will ever happen as I have quite a few things on my priority list that trump having another truck.

If/When you get ready i got one for you!

Yep just have the cab/doors and some odds and ends left. Thanks for the positive posts guys, I've been getting a lot of negativity toward my for sale ads so it's nice to have some folks rooting for me instead of against me. The part out is going very well, if I do well on the cab and doors I will have recouped between 75 and 80 percent of my money. Expensive lesson, but it could have been much worse.

Re: Project: Shiro

Glad it is going well Buck. Did the frame go far? Hopefully the cab will sell soon.

Every vehicle, parts or project I've ever sold going back over 35 years, the buyer tries to beat me down. Every time. Gets old to the point I dislike selling. Part of the culture I guess.

The chassis went to Tennessee, nice guy who will do right by it.

That is what I'm feeling, I dislike selling too. I have been really stressed over the part-out and the biggest factor is the idea some guys subscribe to that states parts that have been purchased and resold are only worth 50% of their original cost. My question is, what makes a part that Nate Porter builds and that I enhanced by powder coating it and assembling it makes it worth less money? Does Delmo mark his parts down 50% after he installs them for a customer? (Not that I am anywhere near Del's level!) I understand that many people can't spend what I did on parts and labor, but why do they have to degrade the value of my parts instead of moving on to something that's within their budget? It's crazy, these guys need to watch "Bambi" if you have nothing nice to say, say nothing at all.

It's just people thinking you are desperate and that you will jump at any offer. Just like when a home has been on the market for a while, someone makes an offer for $100k less than asking price.

Someone will come close in time.

That is hilarious.

I just had life smash me in the face last week, so I totally understand where you're at now. I always wanted you to finish your truck, but now I completely appreciate that these trucks are toys & family supersedes everything else.

Glad you've been able to recouped most of your money so far.

Just saw the guy who sold me this "rust-free best he'd ever seen" truck, jasonvw, looking at the thread with the cab for sale in the classifieds...

He has had his "Gumby" on Ebay a couple of times for sale. He spent a fortune with Delmo, now wants to sell it.

That's actually another guy who is really cool, he did a bunch of work to that truck after he bought it and it's pretty nice now.

The new guy that has Gumby is a good guy. Talk to him often. He fixed alot of the issues that the truck had.

He actually just sold the truck to a guy in Chicago.

No, I'm going to keep it pretty much factory except for maybe an altitude adjustment.

It's been a few weeks but the '65 is gone. It went to Boris up in Ohio (member way2lo2). I have a few parts to get rid of and will be completely out. Not having a truck/project has been an adjustment but the stress relief has been huge and not having that weight on my shoulders helps ease the change. I appreciate everyones support and helpfulness thoughout the few projects I've had, there is a great bunch of great folks on this forum. Good luck with all of your projects, I'll be lurking a bit and maybe I'll be able to return y'alls kindness with an encouraging word one day if any of you hit a rough patch. Later on!

The '65 loaded and headed to the Patina Plantation in Euclid Ohio.

Glad to hear you'll still be hanging around. That lil 68 stepper you had will always be one of my favorites. Thanks for the pics you posted of it in the other thread. :metal:

BTW: it's always good to drop ones stress level. Glad to hear you got rid of a lot of yours.

No, I never really pursued it.
