I read through the whole build and it brought many memories of all the hard work you have done on your stretch. Good luck you have it under control! |

I like the dark colors because of how deep they look but it seems there are tons of dark trucks so I'm wanting to be a little different and go with something light. Kim |

Re: My 57 Pro Street
Kim... just read through this thread and its another incredible build! - I hope you dont get tired of hearing that? lol
Very nice on the fab skills, got some good info from your parts purchases and some of your fixes on things; appreciate it much going forward on mine. Couple questions; You used the Wilwood rotors and said they didnt fit your 15" wheels? what size rotors? 12.19" or 12.88" Also that pirate jack pedal assembly, how far off the inside frame did you have to space it to fit the cab hole? Im doing a hydroboost also due to a big cam, why did you choose that route with an LS motor? I saw you didnt run any hard lines for the hydro? are you doing afterwards or did I just miss it? thanks! -- great Job! |

My rotors are the 12.19" ones. The original wheels I had were old and had a step down in them that fit over drum brakes but not the larger discs. I'm still running 15" wheels they're just a better design without as much back spacing so they fit my brakes. It moved the tires a little closer to the fenders but I still have room. The brake pedal assembly is 1.5" off the frame. This put the middle of the pedal arm 3.75" off the frame. Not sure if that's exactly where it was when original but should be pretty close. I went with hydro-boost for the space savings over a traditional vacuum booster. I do have 3/8" hard lines run on the frame for it I just haven't finished plumbing them into the master cylinder or pump yet. Kim |

I would think the Monte Carlo is pretty close to being the same as the Chevelle. I just did what fit best for my situation. Kim |
Re: My 57 Pro Street
Another "I just found this thread and read through the whole thing" post. I am very impressed with some of the subtle (and not so subtle) mods that you chose to make and have taken away plenty of ideas for my own build. That hood sectioning mod blew me away!
One question I have though, what is this tool for? You said you made it when you were filling holes in the cab. My only guess would be you cover the hole with the copper section and weld against it helping you fill in the hole? Am I even remotely close? haha http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/a...1&d=1391886324 Looking forward to seeing the truck in paint. Keep up the good work! Trevor. |

Re: My 57 Pro Street
Thats a great tool idea Kim, you should patent it.... I tried to have my wife be my backup aluminum plate holder while doing my cab holes.... "sparks are flying everywhere!!!" she says.... I told her thats welding!;)
She would have gladly bought me one of your tools!!!! lol |
Re: My 57 Pro Street
That tool might be handy with magnets on both sides for holding and leveling patch panels as well. Very ingenious tool, I may sacrifice one of my clamps for that.

How you're doin' Kim?
Any updates on your build? A few little pics of what you're at right now would be very nice, even if you think it isn't interesting... ;) Thank you! |

These are after some slick sand a guide coat and sanding the back of the cab.
Still need to sand the fire wall. A couple of low spots on the back to take care of. Kim |

-Kim If you have posted details on the panel that you used on the outside back of the cab, give me the number of the post and I'll go to get the details. If not please share details and photo's as time permits. Thanks Nut Case

A lot of work in there, Kim.
It's looking very good. Love the flat back panel! Never seen that before. Thanks for the update!! |

I thought I had more pics of it. In hindsight I think it would have been a little less work to have the top of the panel start about 1.5 inches higher as there is a slight curve in the area just below the rear window. I'm happy with how it's coming along at this point though. Kim |
Re: My 57 Pro Street
Wait, what'd I miss here, Kim?
Are you building ANOTHER truck or going back through your build for some reason? Or maybe I went back in time and you're building it again for the first time?! Lol. |

Re: My 57 Pro Street
Kim57 Thanks so much the photo's, the starting post # would have been more than enough. Can I PM you for questions about this panel, and such? I'm a few months from pulling the trigger on my build thread. I'm just trying to do as much pre-planing as possible.
I spent several hours studying your hood sectioning and the forward tilting attachments. Wow your skills, and analytical process is off the charts. Thanks so much NC |
