Today I took my '67 C20 on its maiden voyage after getting its fresh big block that I built running better, and with its fresh exhaust, wheels and tires! Very gratifying...

Next up, 2"/4" lowering!

blew this apart today.....
i wish i could say i was racing somebody but i can't. not too sure why this happened. it has been running great, even took my little girl for a ride around the block last night. i backed it out of the garage and parked it under the carport so i could do the buff/polish thing. i was stopping for the day and was gonna pull it back in the garage. turned the key and it sounded like a cannon went off!!! i still have some ringing in my ears.....

Put my grille together with allNOS parts except the brackets and parking light housings. I may leave the inner grille black or I might paint the horizontal raised areas silver, not sure yet.

Took me a second to figure out what I was looking at.

Working on a 68 Camaro with a friend helping out another friend and couldn't figure out whether the timing was off or maybe just carb. problems.

...it was an inconsistent dist.

Carb. filled the whole dang exhaust system up with raw fuel...and then the distributor finally decided to do its thing and light 'er up!

I would check float levels and see if it's leaking gas after it's off. I just replaced my HEI distributor because the coil and play in the shaft was bad. It would stop sparking and fill the exhaust with raw fuel, spark again , then blow a big bang. I used to turn the key off while driving, load up the glass packs, pump the gas, then turn the key back on and blow flames. Yours sounds like it's leaking fuel into the exhaust after shut off.

Looks like someone ignited some fuel in the exhaust system!

Removed my bench saet and placed my buckets console in the truck. Next step get holes drilled for brackets and get original brace welded underneath the floor.

The bench and the buckets, console look awesome!! Highlander Green Plaid is the best color in my opinion. You have some great seat choices there.

I am installing a factory antenea which requires the removal of the cowl panel. I recommend you buy that rubber cowl gasket and all new hardware when doing this job and cleaning out the kick panel area and the rockers since you will have it this far apart. and also a good time to replace the glove box and its hardware as well

Poor manifold! But why, what did he do to you? You couldn't borrow someone's socket? 😆

At risk sounding like I'm the owner, NO affiliation. That said BIG PROPS to POR-15 engine paint. First time I've done something like this. Some trials, and to be tribulations when done, or so is the plan.

This is after one coat on both pieces, I'll finish the pan tomorrow. The cover may have to wait.

IMO the coat is just as well done with applicators than out of a gun. At least my eyes can't see a difference, and I wore my glasses - for a change. Just as well have been dipped.

Installed a crank seal for the first time as well. I used a thin coat of RTV along the inside. Probably over-kill, but works.

That came out looking sharp!!! :metal: Good work and thanks for posting the applicator information.

Thanks....... After using a foam brush for a second coat on the pan, I'm back to using just brushes on the final coat. It's a bit thick for foam applicators larger than 1.5", IMP. I could reduce it, but I don't have "their" reducer and it's not worth the effort.

I'll finish the pan tonight. Think I'll hit the top (technically bottom...ha!) and top edges first, with somewhat a heavy coat. Then work my way down. I'll be sure and post the final results.

For the first hour or so it looks like crap man. Every imperfection revealed. I may have exaggerated brushes Vs shooting, but either way you can't go wrong here. Can't speak for the pan yet, but the cover looks sprayed. Shame I have to sand it:lol:

I started piecing my turn signal cam & associated parts back together. When I got to putting the brass parts onto the new cam, I noticed one of the springs on the front side had grown legs & walked off. I took a quick look, but didn't find it. Damn field mice will run away with anything that isn't nailed down.

I hear ya. When old and can't see that well, magnetic tray for the small stuff is the only way to cruise. Make sure you can find the tray! Have a good one eh.
