Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II
All this food has made me happy again and to top it all off the machine shop has a cancelation so my block and crank go in today. I just might be driving it next month. Happy days I hope but I'll see after the machinist mics the crank to see how bad the damage is. My rib bones are crossed cause my fingers are covered in bbq sauce.

Dang you guys ! .
I'm old & retired now, I don't cook much/well so I don't eat much, now you're talking about Rhubarb pie and my other buddies are talking about potatoes, I guess I'll have to go out to breakfast . I know of no place in Los Angeles that makes decent Rhubarb pie ..... |

That pie looks great. That's on my list this weekend also along with another big batch of Rhubarb sauce for yogurt. I picked about 30lbs the other day. We need a Food Section. Lol |

Created twice the potential fuel & transmission leaks as I had before I started! :metal:
Apparently got to the old rubber fuel line just before it turned back into dust! :o ...can you imagine a rubber fuel line letting go, and coating the entire engine compartment with raw fuel, while you're buzzing down the highway @ 60... right before something decides to light it off! ...blow yer dang hood off for starters, then it will burn your poor little truck to the ground. :( Hopefully you got out alright. Performed a backyard tube job, and now all I have to do is make sure the band clamps stay tight...and probably change several small pieces of 2" rubber hose...um, roughly once a year. :smoke: 90% hand bent and 10% tube bender tool (can you tell?)... Hey Shuddup! it's working alright! :m2: https://i.imgur.com/QJ1Zq3Sl.jpg |

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II
Finished plumbing the rear brake line from shortening the frame. Then replaced the cab mount bushings and bolted the bed back together. Was worried what it might look like or if it would line up, but everything worked out. Next is making access to the fuel tank now mounted in the back of the frame.

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II
I finished tearing my replacement bed down. After that, I cut the bolts that hold my flatbed to the frame. I would have removed it but I didn't have anything strong enough to hang from the garage roof to remove it.

Just got it home, it was given to me for helping clean up a hoarder's home. It sat for 5 years (at least that's the last time it was plated).

Needed a dent in my front cover about a quarter of an inch deep right in the center where the cam sprocket button is. Took a measured swing or 3 with a BFH and an impact socket. Got quarter inch and a fraction more...so I had to beat on the inside of it too!
