How are the Sportsman S/R tires? Rainy/wet weather? expected miles before replacement? I'm going to run the 29x15x15s for now on a 12" rim and when I do get my 20" "street" tire/wheel combo later on I will be running the 29x15x20. I figured they will last longer than a drag radial on the street.

Yes I'd presume they would outlast a drag radial . Seems to be a standard compound. Not hard or overly soft . They do ride very well . As far as wet/rainy performance goes , I can only say that I've only driven them on damp roads . So far I've been able to avoid the wet stuff .

Hey Bowtie468, have you came up with a 31" alternative yet since they don't produce the 31x16x20 anymore? I have a 20x12 Vintecs with a 29" drag radial and I need a taller tire too. Would like to go to a 31" tire . Let me know if you come up with an alternative. I would be willing to go in to get a set made if we could get 100.

How do the S/R's hook with that much HP? I have about 700hp myself.\

By the way. Love the stance of your truck.

I haven't come up with anything yet, but that reminds me . I'll put a call into M/T after lunch and see what they say now. Just to make sure what I was originally told still holds true. Maybe they've changed their policy . Maybe not , but it's worth a shot .
I really haven't tested the traction as I'm trying not to burn them up prematurely . Nothing more than a quick stab of the throttle which sends them up in smoke. :)
Maybe getting them hot would be better . I'm just scared to try . When these are gone , their gone ! But man I wanna find out !

Spent a little time after the 'Bama show to get the licence plate done . If y'all remember it was still the original yellow . Decided to keep it somewhat rustic in appearance . This was all done in powder coat. I call it .. Powder Patina . ;) After stripping it, applied the off white powder and baked . Once cooled , I simply covered it with 20% black and used a fine brush to move the black powder around and expose the white lettering . The powder being brushed will tend to accumulate around the letters and numbers . Easily removed using air . Just hold the blow gun far enough away and it will clear the accumulation without disturbing anything else .
The beauty of this is that you can play with it until you get the effect you like . And if you mess up , simply blow all the powder off and start over with the secondary color .
Once I liked what I was seeing , put it back in the oven to bake that color . Finished it off with 80% clear powder which gives it just the right sheen .
This was before baking the black powder. You can see the detail a little better in this pic .

Thanks !
I'm trying my best to get a lil seat time in it this weekend . Mostly to play with the tune some more . Haven't had much free time for the last 5-6 months it seems . A/C is still not complete but shouldn't be much longer

Just wondering if anyone has come up with any 31x16x20 tires. This is what I was planning to run and I went to order them from M/T and realized that they no longer make them. I tried calling, but they are shut down for the holidays.
Has anyone tried to squeeze any 31x18x20s under a 67-72 C10? I just did a little measuring and it looks like they may fit. Now finding a wheel my be tricky.

Extremely awesome truck by the way.

Not sure if you can get them in there without frame mods . You can try calling M/T but i never got the answer i was looking for . ill just go back to 29" when the time comes , unless i wind up selling it before then .

Many thanks ! We're enjoying it . Not much trouble in the way of new build problems , only lost a fuel pump and the ECM early on , but its been going great ever since .
