I believe 283 was red like the inline 6's were ( at least in Canada) and 327 was orange. I had a 67 gmc with a 283 and it was red. This is the original 327 from another 67 I have and it is orange. It looks pretty original.

Fog lights are in the bumper. They are fully adjustable up-Down and left-right. Might have to make a slight modification to the outer bumper brackets.

I put my headlight relays into a external regulator housing. I wanted better lighting but didn't want to pur modern relays into my engine bay. They would look out of place. Now I just need to change the lighting harness to work with this. I saw another member do this and thought it was clean looking.

I got some led fog lights for my truck and made a relay for them as well. I had to add the ring to the base of the led lights as the originals mounted different than most bulbs of the era. I won't throw out the originals though. I also ordered led headlights that have a glass pattern like the originals and got robznob11's led bulbs for everywhere else. It can still look original with modern lighting! https://www.ebay.com/itm/5-3-4-Stock...53.m1438.l2649

Nice lighting! Where did you get the headlights?

Re: 67 GMC super custom build
I got the headlights from octane lighting. They fit the headlight buckets with no cutting which I liked as well.

Starting to get ready to fire it up and making sure all the brackets fit as they should. It's amazing how crude gm made the ac brackets in these years. Guess it was just for a work truck back then. I'm going to mount the instant aire vacuum port to the ac bracket on the top corner. It's close to where Pontiac put it on their engines.

I had to redo the oil pan as everyone says to put dabs of rtv in the corners to the block with it so I did. Hope this is the last time it's upside down and hope it doesn't leak. Now I can finish the top side!

These are my goodies for this engine to make it period correct. I have doubles of most. Going to put the block heater in this afternoon. The one cord is original from my 67 and the other is Nos. The angle of the plug to the heater is different and the Nos is about a foot longer and has a ground on it.

Making sure all the brackets line up and so far so good. Not going to mount the ac compressor till its in the truck. Now to take the accessories off and get it in the frame and start it!

So I have been fighting my distributor for. The last while. It won't sit down clean to the intake. It sits 1/8" or 0.010 high and bottoms out. Heads were shaved, block was not decked. All gm parts here and were checked by professionals before I assembled it. I've tried everything so I guess the pans gotta come back off and take a look at the oil pump-shaft connection. Thats all that's left. Good thing I haven't put oil in it yet. I have tried a few hei dizzy and they all sit exactly the same.

Re: 67 GMC super custom build
That’s frustrating, hope you can figure it out

How thick is the distributor gasket? I measured one and it seems to be about .054" thick.
