Re: '64 chevy 2wd to 4wd
It's looking great. The chains and the little details amaze me. Raining like crazy here, it sure is hard to believe we're having a drought. Lol

some blue. tough color to accuratley photo.... Attachment 1609759 seen a vid on utube for these pens, they really do look just like the chrome on model parts. great for the bare spots where you cut the part off the tree. ordered a couple of them awhile ago, wish they would get here, would like to try it out on the '50 Attachment 1609760 |
Re: '64 chevy 2wd to 4wd

hey, talk 'bout timing Dale, my chrome pen was in the mailbox when i got home
I FREAKIN' love this thing! super fine lines, and it is one of them few things advertised that actually does what it says. i will be getting more, it's my new favorite toy! gives me a woody....:metal::metal: check it out...trim band on the visor, windshield trim, door handles & gas cap.....so far... Attachment 1610348Attachment 1610349Attachment 1610350 stock kit chrome wheel, liquid chrome pen on the gas cap- looks a-1 to me, just have to try steady up my old hands a little better.. Attachment 1610351 |

Re: '64 chevy 2wd to 4wd
by the way Dale, how's your weather been? i was watching the news and it was showing flooding & some major damage down there.
it also said it put a good size dent in the draught your having, or still dry around you? |

if your really into sniffing styrene, you NEED to get one of these pens. their the cats arse. just wish i knew about them long time ago, much easier than using BMF and looks way nicer than any paint. now that i've experimented with one, i'm ordering a couple more of the other sizes...i put it right behind my dremel in importance now  the '50 is mostly done. ran out of 3/32 tubing, so the camper jacks will have to wait 'till i can make a run to the hobby store (60 mile round trip...:waah:) also still undecided about the visor. yeah, i know, i like them as much as i like Dale's beer, but it just don't look right with the camper on. looks good without the camper, but it dont "flow" when the camper is loaded... anyways, so far... Re: '64 chevy 2wd to 4wd
The weather here has cleared up. We had a few scary days and I had to dig some ditches but stayed high and dry. Those pens look like they work great. I can think of some uses on our full size rigs as well. The 50 looks great. Awesome job, I'm not sure about the visor though. That body style looks great with them. But I've never seen a 50 with a cabover camper either. Great looking combo though.

nice lookin' models Deer hunter!
looks like you a fan of '64-'66? see a row of trucks behind your models that also look interesting... here's a '55 nomad turned into this....it's a little on the crude side, built it in the early '90's i belive Attachment 1612226Attachment 1612227Attachment 1612228Attachment 1612230 just ordered a bunch of swamps for the wrecker and the '41. the wrecker is one of the more carpy revell kits. has all the molded in junk, visor, seat, exhaust, engine, master cyl, battery....on and on...but the deck is pretty nice. to eliminate a bunch of the molded in, going to swap the front clip to a '84 left over from my CCDW last yr. truck #3 for the fleet.... Attachment 1612232 |

wish Round2 would re-issue the '72 fleetside or the '72 gm stepside. thats all us styrene sniffers need  the aftermarket has plenty of 67-69 grilles and hoods to convert the '72's into older trucks i too turned my revell wrecker into a flatdeck....and put the wrecker on a '72... going for an '80's square in the fleet this time, hence the clip swap Attachment 1612395 |
Re: '64 chevy 2wd to 4wd
whered ya ge the 72 kit at?

Re: '64 chevy 2wd to 4wd
at a long closed hobby store back in '93 or '94...
thats when AMT was still making them. i just re-hashed it. word on my model site is Round 2 (AMT) may be re-issuing the old chevy's again. have also heard there will be a short & long box, but that's just speculation right now. been a spat of cool old re-issues lately. too expensive to tool up new, so they been pulling old molds out and dusting them off. i totally imagine Round 2 will do something to counter the new Revell '66 Sub, due out anytime now, and which the wifey got me a pre-order on..:metal::metal: there is usually a few '72 chevy's on fleabay, but expect to pay prob $40 or more (??!!) for some reason, most chevy truck models have been commanding un-real prices the last few yrs...BRING ON the re-issues! get them prices more realistic... |
