Joking apart, great progress, must be a great feeling to be entering the 'putting it back together' stage. |

I am always surprised how the photos I take, end up in people's build threads ;) Looking at the slight incline if the drive, I just need to clarify that I actually did help push it up the first part and then stepped back to take the photos. These threads and pics are for the entertainment of many of us, and the education of others, we learn from each other. Anyway, Martin has delivered the cab now, next up we will see it painted in the lairiest of Kawazaki Geens to burn the eyeballs off most of us. |

http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g1...pszs13kb5x.jpg As for the outside colour I am still thinking what to do its a toss up between these . I like the black two tone but can't find one in black and green . http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g1...psy4dfky5t.jpg Or as Rian said the Kawasaki Green http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g1...psdwxu8jgi.jpg This was my original choice Orange and White http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g1...pswvcuaetj.jpg Or good old fashioned Black but with Green insert http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g1...psdlqcuzxe.jpg Decisions decisions any thoughts welcome |
Re: Martin's mi-STRESS, 1965 Long Fleetside C10 "Rebuild in ENGLAND"
I'd like to see a picture of one in black with green roof and wheels

Orange and cream gets my vote. But then again the green is nice, with maybe the cab roof and side insert satin black

Sent over. Hope you like and post up. |

Not sure if you have ever had a black vehicle before.
A black truck will get dusty, dirty inside your shop in hours. I have a black Buick Riviera and never again. |

I've always been a fan of orange with white two tone on these trucks. That was my plan originally, but the light blue on my truck has kind of grown on me. |

No problem Johnny , that does look a good combo . If I go down the two tone route, I still don't know if I prefer the roof and back of the cab in a ditterent colour but leave the doors and around the screen in the main colour . Two many choices , the roof only on the white does look good in you picture though

Re: Martin's mi-STRESS, 1965 Long Fleetside C10 "Rebuild in ENGLAND"
Well I thought I'd try out my camera I purchased from eBay , so tonight after I got home I wired up my stereo , on my dining room table ( the joy of living on your own ) and then wired up the rear view camera . The result was very good and should make reversing into the tight place the truck lives in a lot easier .
http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g1...ps1kepimbh.jpg The main reason for doing this is , I wanted to check it worked before leaving feedback and recommending it to anybody else . |
Re: Martin's mi-STRESS, 1965 Long Fleetside C10 "Rebuild in ENGLAND"
Be careful when reversing... watch out for the bloke with the phone...
looks great and I may have to add one of those myself... Cheers mate! |

Re: Martin's mi-STRESS, 1965 Long Fleetside C10 "Rebuild in ENGLAND"
That will be a nice addition to the truck

I was going to avoid the figment of a radio......
Now it seems I may just have to copy what looks like a great idea. |

Re: Martin's mi-STRESS, 1965 Long Fleetside C10 "Rebuild in ENGLAND"
AT LAST THE CAB IS HOME !!!!!!!!!!!
Well this afternoon I finished work and headed straight to We weld in New Romney . To. collect my cab the guys down there did a great job and also put in etch primer for me . They also took me some pictures of the process mounted on the spit http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g1...psilj67z3j.jpg http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g1...psdjl0zlfo.jpg http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g1...ps6ytypmco.jpg Once blasted they put it primer http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g1...ps8kz6nx8l.jpg http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g1...psgqagkgfr.jpg http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g1...pstydmbluq.jpg http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g1...psk03cgkgx.jpg All loaded on the trailer ready to head home http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g1...psk8fy7xwk.jpg So on my journey home I called Rian and my mate Stephen from my bike club to come over with the offer of pizza , it works every time . So with Rian, Stephen and Trevor my neighbour who had arranged getting it blasted at mates rates , as he has the unit next door to We Weld , and another neighbour John from over the road, we lifted onto the chassis . Just love this picture http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g1...psl7lf7wwa.jpg So the next update will be showing some of the repairs . It's just finding the time that seems to be the problem at he moment , but more about that later . |
Re: Martin's mi-STRESS, 1965 Long Fleetside C10 "Rebuild in ENGLAND"
Cab looks great mounted on the frame.

:wave::wave: Cab looks great by the way. Martin really lucked out with this one after he had to throw away his first cab. Pizza was good too, and we left him some for lunch today. :metal: |
Re: Martin's mi-STRESS, 1965 Long Fleetside C10 "Rebuild in ENGLAND"
PS. I think you need to point out, the cab is resting on 2" blocks above the cab mount points, to off you dropped it down a bit more, it would looks even more mean.
I want mine to look like that now too. http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...sx1l7oxlj.jpeg |
Re: Martin's mi-STRESS, 1965 Long Fleetside C10 "Rebuild in ENGLAND"
Martin, the cab looks fantastic, looks like they did a great job, having it blasted will save you weeks of work.
Love the picture of it mounted on the frame :metal: Good result |
Re: Martin's mi-STRESS, 1965 Long Fleetside C10 "Rebuild in ENGLAND"
Thats looking really good Martin. Definitely the correct decision to get it blasted.
|
Re: Martin's mi-STRESS, 1965 Long Fleetside C10 "Rebuild in ENGLAND"
Looking good Martin think there might be some long nights coming lol :metal:
|
Re: Martin's mi-STRESS, 1965 Long Fleetside C10 "Rebuild in ENGLAND"
Looking good Martin, I only wish I had gone that route with mine, would have saved a lot of time spent wire wheeling and sanding the underside of the cab.

Re: Martin's mi-STRESS, 1965 Long Fleetside C10 "Rebuild in ENGLAND"
too frickin' cool buddy... makes me think, to hell with blasting here, let someone else deal with it.
let the processes begin.................... |
Re: Martin's mi-STRESS, 1965 Long Fleetside C10 "Rebuild in ENGLAND"
