I took a 1978 chevy truck and bolted the axles on to the stock frame with a set of 4" springs,A lot like the original napco 4x4 trucks were done. Also took the 350 motor ,trans and transfercase and put in the frame. The 78 and 59 frames are the same width except at the very front, easy swap all bolted in and can be put back stock at anytime. A fun daily driver .

Re: How about some pics of your 4x4

Good looking Scrambler, I had a 82 tears ago, pretty rare now aren't they. The poor GM's and their big wheel wells, hard to fit a big tire.

BBcj8 12-30-2011 04:59 AM

Re: How about some pics of your 4x4

Thanks mud.man.rj Ya they are getting pretty rare. Those are 37s and they were really hard to fit.

mud.man.rj 12-30-2011 08:09 PM

Re: How about some pics of your 4x4

Those 37's are the new style MTR's by the looks of them, they look good. Back 25 years ago I had 33's on mine and were big at the time. I just sold my 79 Bronco and had 38.5 Boggers and they seemed normal for today. My 71 has 6" of lift and could only fit 35: SSR swampers and they seem real small, but sure work nice on the street, even in the snow, the radial part helps a bit with wear and the ride too, getting older so they will do. I like the 396 part too.

Not a 67-72, but it is a 4WD. 2004 Silverado Z-71, 5.3, Summit Racing cold air intake, MSD wires, Corvette servo, mild street tune, Motive 4.88 gears (front and back), Detroit Tru-trac (I think) posi unit, BDS 6.5" lift, 3" PA body lift; 18x9 Pro-Comp wheels, 35x12.5x18 Nitto Trail Grapplers, N-fabs, rear seat raised 1/2" to fit (2) kicker 12's, kicker amps, kenwood deck, Whelen siren (yeah, its fun!!), Tow mirrors, Vertical billet grill, KC lites...next is HID's, a 6.0 swap, then maybe a SFA conversion.

Very nice truck warenpeice,,, I almost pilled the trigger on scooping that truck up when it was for sale but the stepside box was 1/2" too narrow to fit something I'd need to throw in the back..... Very nice.

This is my 69 1/2 ton short bed. It is actually a 69 body on a early 60's chassis.
It has a V8 350/350 combo with a NP203 transfer case. I do not go 4 wheeling but I love the way they look, especially with the 33 tires on factory rally's.:ito:

Re: How about some pics of your 4x4

you need to open a free account on www.photobucket.com
load the pictures from youre computer to that site and once there loaded intoo youre photobook click to copy the IMG link under the pic intoo the messagebox using the insert immage button next to the little globe in the upper edge of the messagebox .... it opens a popup , you need to paste the link intoo the popup and click ok if you have more than one pickture do that a couple times but do click enter for each one or the pictures will end up side by side making the others need to scroll to read the text in between
just experiment a little there are more than one link under each picture and they all do something different
