Re: ''Project '64 SYT Super Yenko Truck"

I don't think the rears will work. The offset is not right. It looks like the outside edge of the wheel sticks out past the bedside. Just going off what I see.;) Unless you narrow the rearend, but that would more expensive.

jgh64pkup 04-12-2010 10:52 PM

Re: ''Project '64 SYT Super Yenko Truck"

yeah the rear wheels arent the right offset but i dont like my truck low (damn jack wont fit under the crossmember)
its going back to stock height for now so the tires will clear
i think my uncle/boss will sell them to me pretty cheap
i spent about 10 min on the buffer with some mothers chrome polish and made them look pretty good

Re: ''Project '64 SYT Super Yenko Truck"

What?

ruffrida2005 04-21-2010 10:13 AM

Re: ''Project '64 SYT Super Yenko Truck"

he's probably refering to you wasting money to sound like a turbo and not haveing a turbo.

I know your wanting to build the truck for the track. but dont get spanked by an import when you think you have the power you dont.

did he make it look easy?

jgh64pkup 07-22-2010 01:12 AM

Re: ''Project '64 SYT Super Yenko Truck"

heck yeah compared to us doing the rear window it looked really easy

Strodder 07-22-2010 05:11 PM

Re: ''Project '64 SYT Super Yenko Truck"

It is easy, but scary. It could break if not done right. The glass guys around here won't guaranty it won't break when installing it. I'll probably install mine myself. I've done hundred's of VW windshields, and only broke one. :metal:

Re: ''Project '64 SYT Super Yenko Truck"

yeah it needs an engine and tranny but it was a v6 anyway
im going to drop a 350 and turbo 350/400 in it
interior is all there just needs a steering column rebuild
and ill be rolling down the road

Strodder 08-07-2010 08:47 PM

Re: ''Project '64 SYT Super Yenko Truck"

Go with a 700-R4 instead of the 350 or 400. Low first gear with a nice over drive.

tiggamonsta 08-07-2010 11:14 PM

Re: ''Project '64 SYT Super Yenko Truck"

Drop a motor tranny in, and sell it. Then you can have some cash for the truck.

Bugeyev8 08-08-2010 12:55 AM

Re: ''Project '64 SYT Super Yenko Truck"

junk it before you waste more time and money on it, fix the truck, I had a 1995 z28 convertible... in 1998 it was the worst car I ever owned, the only good thing was the LS1 and the T56-6 speed

jgh64pkup 08-08-2010 01:04 PM

Re: ''Project '64 SYT Super Yenko Truck"

ill tear up a 700r4
the truck is almost street legal so im going to do that first
and this firebird is just to have fun in
i can build a 355/350 horse pretty cheap and i have a 700r4 im sure somebody would trade me for a 350/400 turbo

firenuttz 10-30-2010 01:58 PM

Re: ''Project '64 SYT Super Yenko Truck"

any progress on your truck lately? did u ever get it road worthy?

jgh64pkup 10-31-2010 09:32 PM

Re: ''Project '64 SYT Super Yenko Truck"

and i had to fix my DD
i did take it on some pavement finally
it left about 100 ft of black marks :burnout:

its a 83' blazer on 36 in tsls we bought it for 150 bucks

jgh64pkup 11-15-2010 01:58 AM
