Rob, when you get as fair as making upper trim, make sure to take some pics for me. I am wondering how hard it will be to make the upper trim for the 3rd door. Trevor

I think it will be a nice contrast.

You are a better man than me I deal with one at a time and I go nuts sometimes.. I am more into SWB but looking at your suburban, I tell you yours looks REALLY good!!!!:metal:

, I have ADD....., besides, they are all fromt he same era so I only have to learn one set of parts. You gotta get a Burb for the family.....:metal:.

That's already been taken care of, James at Mar-K is working on that as we speak, errr type, :D.

I've got the compressor and tank mounted, but I still need a couple of more fittings to finish that part up. I'm installing a schrader valve so I can fill the tank if my compressor ever quits. I'm also going to add a fitting to allow me to attach an air hose. I'm going to figure out where the manifold block goes next.. Here's a few pictures of the progress.

I like the idea of putting in a schrader valve incase the pump stops working. You could carry one of those small air compressors that plug into the cig lighter and fill it up. You would be good to go. I also like the air hose fitting idea too.

Great work Rob!

I finally have the compressor and air tank permanently mounted and all connections sealed. Next will be the manifold and the "brain". I hoped to have more done today, but I got sidetracked by having to replace a pool pump motor, :(. Anyway, here are a few pictures of the tank/compressor. I also threw the roof rack on to verify fitment. I'm going to send the stanchions to get them rechromed. They are really nice for originals, but with the burb aired out, you'll be staring right at them and I want them to look nice.

Rack looks great on there. Perfect placement too ;)

Is that a moisture trap or descant cartridge? If it's a conventional moisture trap it will only be effective when placed at a location where the air has cooled. Definitely not right off the compressor. In a home/shop system a min of 20' is standard.

...or maybe it's just a filter? :o

Thanks. I think it's just a filter. The AccuAir instructions say to put it as close to the tank as you can get it.

Thanks for the heads up. I'm mounting everything first and then I'll come back and worry about the wiring..

Boxes, boxes and more boxes......:D.

Can you get to those air valves with the bumper on?

I guess you can get to them.

Looks like it here.

I just wonder if you can get under there with it aired out and the bumber on. I guess you could jack it up if you had too.

I think I should still have room. Here's a picture from the back with it all aired out.

CPP bolt in notch, Porterbuilt 2" dropped trailing arms, and ART bags. A cherry picker, a chain hoist and lots of help!!!

how well do the bags bolt up to the trailing arms? and did you replace the trailing arm crossmember as well? Im trying to figure out what to do with there rear. but want to keep it somewhat simple.

I was afraid you were goin to say something like that:lol: not looking forward to that, maybe I can get by without doing it right now and do a frame off later:uhmk:

I used the original crossmember. Everything is bolt on. The only cutting required is for the C-notch, but it is bolt in also. If you look back in this thread or in my crewcab thread, I show some pretty detailed pictures of the chassis. My original plan was to do a "frame-on" resto, but you see how that ended up..................:uhmk:

Those are some sweet brakes man!

Are you using the Modular Drop spindles from CPP?

I got the whole setup, :D. I almost have the 12" rear brakes installation completed. So far it's been a pretty simple and straight forward install. I chose to put the calipers forward of the axle but you can do it either way, you just swap the mounting brackets. Here's a few pictures.

Oh yeah! Beautiful!!! Glad to see you can mount them forward like that. What's your solution for securing the ebrake cables to the PB arms?

It's a really sweet kit and I finally feel like I'm making progress on the burb. I pretty much have the rear buttoned up. I have to get a differential gasket tomorrow and tighten a few bolts and then I'll be moving towards the front....:sumo:. Here's a few pictures of everything mounted inluding the brake lines.
