I've got a little more done: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/gallery/...psk2tnkbnt.jpg http://67-72chevytrucks.com/gallery/...psw9ljxuiu.jpg I really need to move that fuel line out of my way. After seeing it in these pictures, I'm a bit surprised I haven't put it back down by the frame rails yet. |
Re: Knomadd '71 SWB C-10
Awesome job on the firewall Duane, I really like the shaved wire gutter!
|
Re: Knomadd '71 SWB C-10
Nice clean look, Duane. Looks like you've almost got it whipped.

Well, I didn't take final pics of the passenger side, but here is one of the drivers side and another of the passenger side with the A/C fittings mocked up. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/gallery/...psymvd0h0e.jpg http://67-72chevytrucks.com/gallery/...psufxozjzd.jpg I've started sanding down the rest of the firewall and will be filling in some unnecessary extra holes, relocating some others for some wiring to hide a little better, and start body work. Hopefully I'll get it ready for paint around Thanksgiving. Oh, and my wire harness should be here tomorrow!!! :metal: |
Re: Knomadd '71 SWB C-10
Damn. Good work. Looks great.

Re: Knomadd '71 SWB C-10
Excellent work on the channel Duane!

I went out to the garage last night to keep plugging holes, got two done, but noticed it was welding really strange. It took me until the 2nd hole was filled to check my gas level... it was empty, again! Now I know I don't weld often, but that tank sure seemed to go empty rather quickly. So, no more progress with the welds, but I did take a picture of the passenger side finished. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/gallery/...psr977wq4d.jpg And... MY HARNESS CAME IN!!! http://67-72chevytrucks.com/gallery/...pswpgfzc4n.jpg Now I just need to finish the firewall, get it off to paint and I can start cutting it down and building my own stand alone harness! :metal: |

Re: Knomadd '71 SWB C-10
More progress... the metal work is almost complete!
Started with these holes http://67-72chevytrucks.com/gallery/...pskggbxbem.jpg made a plug http://67-72chevytrucks.com/gallery/...psehemb3nt.jpg two holes down, square plug set in place http://67-72chevytrucks.com/gallery/...psoovxvkuf.jpg end result (keeping rear body harness hole since I wired the truck already) http://67-72chevytrucks.com/gallery/...ps603xzdvo.jpg Clutch hole before http://67-72chevytrucks.com/gallery/...pshbrd9ss2.jpg and after http://67-72chevytrucks.com/gallery/...psdn0g3erb.jpg started stripping the undercoating/bedliner crap and surface rust that was hiding under it http://67-72chevytrucks.com/gallery/...psh1pz75wv.jpg Final product, with some rust converter on the drivers side. Just to keep it at bay. Once I'm ready to cut out and replace the fuse block butcher job, I'll sand it all off again and start filler work. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/gallery/...pshra3t01x.jpg |
Re: Knomadd '71 SWB C-10
Wow that looks really good man. Great job
|
Re: Knomadd '71 SWB C-10
That looks really nice. Great work!
|
Re: Knomadd '71 SWB C-10
Nice work, Duane. I like the a/c line hole layout better than mine which is all inline. The rain gutter turned out slick.

The last piece of the firewall... The butchered fuse block hole... old overlayed onto new. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/gallery/...psoyodqxij.jpg And the finished product, finally! http://67-72chevytrucks.com/gallery/...pspvxrfa1c.jpg Oh, and my e-level reprogrammed and resurfaced accuair parts came in yesterday. These were my old switchspeed parts sent back in to accuair for the upgrade. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/gallery/...psueitpqil.jpg |
Re: Knomadd '71 SWB C-10
Very nice work on the firewall...well done!

Looks great! Killer progress.

Re: Knomadd '71 SWB C-10
Nice work Duane. Hope those pinouts help you out on that harness too!

Re: Knomadd '71 SWB C-10
Apparently I've forgotten to update this thread for a little while. Time to remedy that...
Metal work finished, rolled it outside to blow it all of and give it a good grease and wax remover clean up. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/gallery/...psx1sdeeoa.jpg http://67-72chevytrucks.com/gallery/...psmy4h7xeh.jpg I then started with some filler... http://67-72chevytrucks.com/gallery/...pszxtcgscd.jpg First coat done and sanded... http://67-72chevytrucks.com/gallery/...psxxkbhjz5.jpg After a little more filler, it was time to do a polyester filler (final filler). http://67-72chevytrucks.com/gallery/...pso0mnootk.jpg I've almost got it finished, but still some sanding and a couple touch up spots to hit again... more pictures later. |
Re: Knomadd '71 SWB C-10
Got a bit more done last night. Hopefully this is the last time I'm putting on more filler...
