I did get some work done welded in my c-notches made some 1/4" plates at work to kind of box them in they sit in about 1/2"-5/8" from outside lip! will have those welded up tomorrow after work! today is fathers day an my dad is up here so the whole family is just going to hang out, go out to eat, etc. no truck time today

Re: my '64 c-10 swb project with steel floor from a '70

the welds could have looked better but I was pushing it with the Hobart welder welding 1/4" plate, and trying to fill in some of the gaps that the cpp notches had to my frame, should have got a torch and heated it up to get the gaps a lil closer, but don't have one yet! but im going to fill it all in grind fill grind fill, get it all smooth and looking good!

Happy Father's Day Chad!
The brakes look sweet, and you are gonna love that stud-welder!
I used the crap out of one of those when I fixed my roof!

you're doing good dude. welds look strong.

and a big happy fathers day to you, and your dad.

the road trip we're planning is 'pistons and paint' its early in november. a couple of weeks after the cruise-in at my place. so, keep working on your truck and even if stuff gets in the way... roll it up on a trailer and get it there.

ok so I got an update, been repainting the back half of the frame! but mostly I took out the 7/16" wheel studs and put in dorman #310-327 studs they are 1/2" and they work with 2007 lug nuts so they will work with the caps that go with my stock 2007 rims!
I also took out the old bearings and seals an put in new bearings and seals don't have the bearing part number but do have the seals part number! i also welded in the notches on the inside an got them painted, painted my brake calipers and the axle ends! anyways here is some pics

thanks don, it sure was fun for me an the kids, the wife not so much she sprained her ankle pretty good! black and blue about two fingers width and length right about the heel bone, she is healing up slowly

well enough about that, I haven't really done much to my truck since I did a lil grinding on the back of the cab an found more rust that will need patching! was a lil depressed seeing it, an they don't make patches for what I need so yesterday at work I found some scrap 2x2 1/4" square tubing and some 1-1/2x1-1/2 angle iron and welded them together, long story short it will work like an aftermarket piece would! I think it would work better really, since I made it, lol! I still need to cut up some metal for the patches and try it out! I will get pics of the jig I made and after I get some metal bend up for the rust!

so in to the rust pics!!

Looks like the cab corners from the pics, which they do make a small patch for. I have some good portions on the back of my donar cab if I knew what your looking for size wise

I know its hard to tell from the pics but, the cab corners will only do a small portion! the patches im going to have to make are from the cab corner angle up to where it levels out at the cab mount on both sides! length wise is like 2- 8" strips length by 4" wide with the bend for the spot welds! then like one that's 4"x4"

I can get some better pics for you to get a better idea, but I really think I can make the patches

thanks clem!

I'm sorry guys I haven't been doing anything to my truck lately! that has to do with the fact I has switched to second shift at work two weeks ago and I'm assembling those big A$$ coolers now! a lot cleaner when I come home and less stressful, also had to spend about $500 on tools for work and buy a roll away! so haven't bought anything for the truck either!! I'll try and get some stuff done this weekend or this next weekend!!

Dude!
The water park & kids sounds way more fun than workin' on rust...Just sayin!
You can never get those moments back, with the kids I mean...
Rust work will always be there.

well no truck pics but!!

I figure i'll post some pics from work! I started out as a grinder then moved to assembly an this week I have switched once again! now I'm going to be painting the coolers an utility truck beds, all these in 6 months! I got a few before an after pics, I painted three coolers these week, one I got a picture of! then last night I painted two utility truck beds with help from chad! the other chad is a lead an he has been training me, says I should be proud of myself, I have caught on really quick, since this is the first week of me being in the paint booth spraying with there system! also there was a few very small runs in the corners of the paint but nothing that can't be fixed, but not bad for my first week at being there new night painter! when I started I was trying to get into assembly or paint now I have done both, and with anything the more you know in the company the more you'll get paid!! next is the plasma table, lol!! anyways heres some pics

thanks Bomp, its been a great learning experience for me! been talking to a guy at work, that use to paint airplanes til he had to get surgery on his tailbone from falling after painting the composite nose cone on a huge plane (I forgot the plane number), but he landed right on his A$$!! wants to stay on the ground now, an I have seen a few pics for the planes! but anyways if I get all the body work done on my truck, he'll paint it for free as he teaches me how to do it!! really cool guy and is only a couple yrs. younger then me, his dad put a paint gun in his hands when he was only 12yrs. old

but that's going to have to want, as I have posted on tat2don thread:

I wont be able to have any free time been working an will be working 10hrs. mon.-fri., 4-6 sat. and 4-6 sun til about mid-January! they don't want me calling-in at all or it will affect my raise, seeing they put me on another 90 day probation, since I became the night painter at work!! but looking at about a $5-6 raise if I don't call-in at all, an if I do miss any even once, I'm looking at only $1-2 raise, don't want to give that up! it's there incentive to not miss any work an prove that I really want my raise!! kind of sucks, an with the weekend hrs. being I start at 12:30pm-1:30pm. leaves me with not being able to make any plans for awhile!

First time looking at this thread, very nice work. Maybe I missed it, but what did your hydroboost unit come out of, what master cylinder are you using, and where did you get the lines for it?
