This is a Polaroid from 1976 of my mom and dad getting ready to go to Iowa in our "new" Suburban. My dad had just got off of work as a Letter Carrier and hooked up our old Sherwood tent trailer. Sorry the quality isn't the greatest.

Re: Nostalgia - Pics in Time.
When I was a kid, a local trailer/car lot had a red Crosley sedan out front as an advertising draw. It was an early model like this one:
http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/xq90/540/uZEYIF.jpg It had a trailer hitch and was connected to a long long trailer like the one in the Desi/Lucy movie of the same name: http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/xq90/538/ouKjZQ.png The tongue of the trailer was resting on a jack stand, as I’m sure the Crosley couldn’t move attached to that much weight! |

Not a whole truck....but stumbled on a pic of a 64-66 chevy truck door from our local Coke plant that used to be here in Fayetteville.
Tried to find some pics of a complete truck from Fayetteville in the 60's , but no luck. |

Re: Nostalgia - Pics in Time.
It makes me heart sick when I look back at all these pictures, some only 20 or 30 years old. When we got the 1960 in 1992, we hit most of the wrecking yards in the Northern California Bay Area and there were literally hundreds and hundreds of these trucks available. And most were complete, not stripped hulks.
I only picked up what I needed at the moment. If only I’d had the foresight to pick up all the Apache trim, GMC trim, high hump floor pans, heater plates, undamaged/non rusted cabs, etc. The prices were next to nothing compared to today. |

Great pic. Took me a moment to figure out where it was taken.
