Nice job TJ and you're exactly right, there's nothing fast about bodywork, especially if it's done right. Paint and body can be 75% of the time involved in a build. And it looks like you got it going on… good work.

Yeah, it seems to take me an hour to pull a dent. haha But, I find it rather enjoyable....nice change from all the sanding! Waiting on my block sanding stuff to arrive so I can do a nice job on the fillers. :chevy:

Hey guyz! Well nothing big to report....the temps have been in the high 90's low 100's so working in a non a/c garage has been a little less motivating. haha But I'm slowly kicking away at this body work. Also early this morning I pulled the frame out for some picture shots and a wipe down and wax. Yes I actually wax this frame. Smells like bubble gum now! :chevy:

Hi all, some more small updates. Life just never seems to stop being so busy, but in it all there's been some truck time. :metal:

Still working on the back of the cab....slowly getting there. Luckily I have been able to keep most of the bondo under a 1/4 inch. Pulled dents the best I could. Just some holes to spot weld and a little more block sanding and it should be ready for primer really soon. :bann:

Also I have been working on getting this motor ready for break in. Recently put a valve cover gasket in and bolt the cover down. And I got some gauges hooked up. Little more wiring and then it just needs oil so I can prime it and water. Gonna use 94 vp racing fuel for break in. Getting excited folks! Almost ready to hear this motor finally! :chevy:

Howdy folks, after what seemed like never ending body work I was finally able to prime the back of the cab in. Almost there....just gotta repair the passenger side rocker panel and this cab is sealed. Then onto urethane primer and paint. :metal:

REALLY nice. Made me wonder why I went with the V8.... Yeah I remember now there was a big old hole in my inline 6, LOL. It got me home with the hole on a cold rainy night so it did its duty!!! Looking really good.

Yeah, I would have gone with a v8....probably should have at my pay grade. haha But I just couldn't let the 292 go. They're good motors! Thanks for checking in! :chevy:

Well not much done this week.....went on a camping trip from Friday until this afternoon. But once I got home I couldn't resist trying to make up for lost time. So I spent this afternoon getting the holes drilled for the spotlight and then this evening I sanded the epoxy down a bit on the firewall and sprayed 2k urethane over that. Now back to block sanding and hopefully paint and clear soon! And speaking of paint.....Got my colors in Friday! :metal:

Hey guyz!!! We got some color down! :metal: Still came out kinda peely but I'm gonna do some cutting and buffing and that should take care of that. Still happy to see some color down. Got 2 good coats of base down and 5 good coats of clear down. Sata 5000 sprayed nicely as well. Base went down very nice, clear needs some reducer. No dull spots in the clear...just differences in the lighting. :chevy:

Well my cutting and buffing supplies won't be here until this afternoon so I won't be doing that until tomorrow evening. Forgot they weren't gonna show up until the afternoon. haha

Got some cutting and buffing done last night and this morning. Did the 3 step 1000,1500,2000 with liquid ice. Buffed with a wool pad and black pad. Have to get a different blue pad cause Napa sent me the wrong one. haha Gonna fix that this morning. Until next time. :chevy:
